DESCRIPTION:

Take the famous Spa Road nearly to the end to find this resort spread across 20 acres of grounds. The main attraction here are the thermally heated swimming facilities with a brand new pool complete with a swim up bar and cafe. Check in at the resort style reception at the gate, which includes a well stocked shop and booking service for local tourist attractions. Each of the 140 spacious powered campsites have a tap and sump and there is an equal number of tent sites. The modern facilities include immaculately kept kitchens that open to attractively paved BBQ patio, and a separate building has a cosy TV room with large screen Sky TV and a well-equipped games room alongside. The extensive ablutions include unisex family, baby and disabled access bathrooms and three laundries. This camp has families well catered for, with the largest jumping pillow in NZ, as well as a smaller one for the littlies, enjoy the two tennis courts (night-lit), great kids adventure playground, and trampolines. A dump station, DVD hire, and wifi are provided, as well as pedal cars and bikes for hire. Your hosts are Lloyd and Trish Lusty and their team. DESCRIPTION:

Located on a 120 acre property at Tikitere,15 km from central Rotorua, this
camp includse an extensive range of activities such as heated and cold pools,
a lake amongst surrounding farmland, bush walks, glow worms, kayaking, tennis
and horse riding by arrangement. More exciting activities such as archery, slug
guns, and a climbing wall, but the camping facilities are minimal with the kitchen,
showers, and toilets all situated some distance from the actual camping area.
There is however disabled facilities, plentiful water and dump station, as well
as plenty of shady trees around the 16 powered sites camping sites, and many
tent sites. A Christian youth camp that caters mainly to groups, weekends are
best for short term stays. Powered from $20 for two adults, non-powered for
$15 for two adults.

Mangatutu Hot Springs is a popular camping, picnic and fishing spot, and a starting point for tramping, hunting or day walks up the Mohaka River and further into the Kaweka Forest Park. Mangatutu hot springs There are barbecues, picnic tables and toilets located in secluded clearings among the manuka surrounds, and there are access tracks descending to the Mohaka River. The main feature here is the thermal springs. Thermal water issues from a deep, undercut, steaming hole on the top terrace. The water trickles down a riverside bluff and after a short way is channelled into two pools.

Deanna have put a lot of work into making this camp something a bit special. Not content with run of the mill, they have made the upgrades quirky and memorable. The modernised amenities are lovely and clean, have key-pad access, good free showers, and facilities for the disabled. The kitchen includes a TV as well as all the appliances you need, and for a small charge crockery is also available. A nice undercover area behind the kitchen is where the BBQs and outdoor dining are situated. There is a well stocked shop in the reception area, a short walk to the renowned Liquorice Cafe, and only 15 minutes from the relaxing Tokaanu hot pools. Pets are by arrangement only. Sites cost from $18 per adult, $9 for children under 14 years, one and under are free. Please note that seasonal rates may apply.

camps around. Stretching along the shores of Lake Taupo is this popular, largecapacity camp with around 267 sites. The lakeside sites have ready water
access, shady kowhai trees and are handy to the boat ramp, ideal for watersporting families. Across the road, the camp stretches up a sheltered valley
with sites grouped on several levels that offer maximum privacy and lake
views. All the amenities are spotlessly clean, smart and well-equipped, with
four kitchens, three laundries and four ablution blocks (with metered showers
and disabled access). Other amenities include a dump point, fsh cleaning areas,
boat storage and well stocked camp store with fshing supplies. Your hosts are
Brent and Jenny McIntosh, and all sites are from $19 to $22 per person. Please

Heading east into Murupara on the main road, look for the Motor Camp sign
on your left just after the bridge. 29 powered sites and 32 non-powered
sites are set in 7 hectares of large trees. The hot showers are free as is the
Wi-Fi. There is a well equipped kitchen. Washing machine and dryer cost $2
each. Visit the Te Urewera National Park. This is a base camp for rafting the
Rangitaiki and is close to the Golf course. Your host is Daniel. Tent sites are
