DESCRIPTION:

Take the Kellys Bay turnoff as signposted from Pouto Rd. The next 6 km is metal (slow down and take quietly).

This is home to spectacular flocks of oyster catchers, stilts, terns and other sea birds. The camp is a tidy level grassed area across the road from the waters of this quiet sheltered bay.

There are 14 power and 10 non powered sites. Facilities are minimal, water taps and clean long drop toilets only.

A two cubicle shed is provided so you can use your own solar shower.

There is good shell and boat fishing, while the children have a safe swimming beach and colourful play equipment.

Eftpos is provided (Debit card only) and the last stop for petrol is Dargaville, so make sure you have plenty to get you back. The last shop is at Te Kopuru. So please ensure you have plenty of food. Terry and Jenny are your hosts.

DESCRIPTION:

Magnificent manicured lightly terraced grounds lead gently down to a natural swimming pool in the river. The sites are large and well treed, many having
their own picnic tables and there are vast open areas for recreation and a
childrens’ play area. The facilities are excellent, clean and spruce. The large
kitchen/living room has a large covered dining deck (with BBQ’s) overlooking
the river. A kauri servery opens to the spacious wood panelled social/dining
room with TV. The ablutions are not numerous, but are clean and tiled, with
liquid soap, hair dryers, plus a disability suite. The laundry has auto washing
and dryer. Internet access is available. At the office/shop you can arrange a
guided night walk where you may see a kiwi roaming. Bookings essential for
the night walk. Secluded in the fold of bush-clad hills, this topnotch camp is
close to the kauri forests, 33km north of Dargaville. Your hosts are Chris and
Jane McCombs. IAC wifi is available, cell coverage limited. Camping costs
from $44 per person and $11 per child. Seasonal rates apply

Come stay and play at Kai Iwi Lakes, Taharoa Domain, one of New Zealand's best holiday spots. Only three hours from Auckland, 35 kilometres from Dargaville. Nestled amongst 538 hectares of premier recreation reserve with walking and cycling tracks and white sand freshwater dune lakes renowned for their jewel-like beauty and clear waters. Perfect for a wonderful camping experience with the choice of two camp grounds located on lake foreshore, both offering an ideal camping experience for tents, caravans or motorhomes. Pine Beach has campsites, wash and shower facilities, two flushing toilet blocks, pontoon, playground and summer seasonal services, including mobile shop and camp staff located onsite. Sites are $10 per night and there are a limited number of powered sites, at an extra charge of $10 that must be booked as per the other sites at the camp ground. Promenade Point has camping areas and a toilet block however no shower facilities, and is a true relaxed kiwiana camping experience. There is a strict no pets policy to protect the native wildlife. The Taharoa Domain reserve's beautiful crystal clear Kai Iwi Lakes are ideal for safe swimming, kayaking, fishing, boating and water skiing.

DESCRIPTION:

Pay a visit to the Marine Reserve at Goat Island; explore the waters with
friendly, colourful fish. Just up the road from the beach there is a farm/camping
spot that enjoys sea views and caters for families, with a playground and lots
of areas to explore. There are a number of level camping areas, though only
8 sites with power. The main building houses a fully catered kitchen with all
utensils and other facilities, a lounge with TV and a pool table, tidy ablutions
with free hot showers and a porch laundry. The outside dining and BBQ area
are open to the elements. Here you can gather around the bonfire in the
evening.  Dive gear can be hired. All sites are from $18
to $25 per person. Seasonal rates apply.

Beside a magnificent stretch of the Tasman coast, this camp is nestled into a
plateau above the bay, where there is a cluster of mainly holiday homes. You
will find 18 power sites 12 of these are non power plus plenty of tent space. An ablution block has hot water showers for $1 and flush toilets. In the
gazebo outdoor kitchen there are two fridges, microwave, two electric hobs,
a small bench top oven and a BBQ. Dine at one of the 3 large picnic tables
that are undercover and protected by clear roll down plastic windows. It is
an open secret that this is a great place to fish. The caretakers are Barry and
Betty. New rates from 1st November 2017...$10 per person per day...$10 per day for power... under 5"s free.

This is a well presented camp in a quiet location about 1 km from the town
centre and close to the Olympic size swimming pool. A focal point is the
outdoor kitchen/BBQ area, well lit at night with a generous amount of seating.
A playground is alongside. Flowers and trees are dotted around this level
camp. The amenities are smart and up-to-date. In the corridor kitchen
there is plenty of bench space. Cooking by microwave, full stove or hot
plates. The laundry hosts automatic equipment and an ironing centre. Great
housekeeping here. The Jacobs are the hosts. Sites from $18 per person.

This comfortable camp is in the centre of town, just off the main street and
a very short walk to the adjacent shops and restaurants. There is a camp
kitchen with stove, sink, microwave, and all necessary pots, pans, cutlery and crockery. Some powered sites have private en-suites if required ($20 per adult) or there are spotless disabled friendly shower rooms with basin and toilet. Camp Waipu Cove is right on the foreshore as you can see. Within the camp are 140 powered sites and 32 non powered sites, these are well lit at night. Throughout the camp modern amenities blocks have heaps of hot water, spacious and airy ablutions with metered showers, nice kitchens, dining areas and laundries which are well-equipped with automatic machines. There is an all weather TV room, adventure play equipment, trampolines, a boat ramp and a medical facility are available in summer. Wi-fi (additional cost) and a dump station are available too.
