Just east of Whanarua Bay is relaxed, basic camping in a tranquil inlet right by
the sea. There is a large area for camping with many pleasant grassy campsites
under the pohutukawa trees beside the beach. Drums are provided for fres
on the beach. There are no power sites here and no kitchen. A total of 12
toilets and 8 hot showers all coin operated at $1 for a shower. You are able
to hire kayaks Take aways, refreshments and some provisions are available on
site. Bea is your host. No dogs please.Adults $15, $10 Children aged 5-15

DESCRIPTION:

2 km from Maketu and three local beaches, set on an elevated site, this camp
enjoys delightful landscaped gardens with rural views and many homely touches.
Check in at the modern office which carries a few basic supplies. The kids
have a great playground, a large solar heated swimming pool, plus a friendly
pony, birds, turtles etc. The amenities are excellent and include a smart, partly
covered pool next to the kitchen. Here there are modern appliances and a
dining space. The ablutions have free showers, disabled access/family suite and
plenty of bathroom extras. An automatic laundry and dump point are here
too. About 30 sites are available, all with power. When it comes to relaxing,
there is a TV lounge and games room, wireless hotspot and internet kiosks
and a great covered BBQ garden with tables and outdoor lighting. To support
the local kiwifruit industry, the camp has two distinct seasons, a summer one
to cater for holiday makers and a winter one to accommodate the seasonal
workers. Your friendly hosts are Phillip and Rosalie O’Reilly. Camping costs
$12.50 to $15 per person for a powered site and $10 to $12.50 for tents.

DESCRIPTION:

This charming little camp at Maketu is on absolute beachfront. The sheltered waters provide a wonderful beach playground for children, with rock pools and endless sand. Flat, grassy sites are spread across several seaside terraces connected by flights of steps and all with amazing sea views. The prime, lower-beachfront campervan sites are really quite something! The log-style ablutions are modern with free showers. The smart little kitchen has a TV, the usual appliances, and a covered porch BBQ/dining area with awesome views. The laundry has automatic machines. A licensed seaside cafe/restaurant at the park entrance is a pleasant place to spend some time, and you can get basic food items and takeaway meals here too. Your host is Shane Beech. Camping costs $30 for two people.

Take the southern approach to Katikati, Turn west into Wharawhara Road
about 300m south of the Katikati boundary and head 1.5km inland If it’s a
clothes-free camping experience you are after, this is your place in the sun!
Eight acres of rolling grounds have been lovingly landscaped and designed with the outdoor lifestyle in mind. With 51 powered sites, you can camp near
the boundary stream, or close to the bush. Recreation time has been well
catered for, with a big outdoor chess and draughts board, miniputt, volleyball,
Frisbee, golf and petanque for when the sun is shining, or when it’s not - head
to the recreation hall for a game of pool or your favourite TV programme. At
the heart of the park is a lovely free-form swimming pool and sauna room,
with an adjacent spa pools set under a leafy, roofed deck. The amenities
include a spacious kitchen with full stove, microwave, gas rings, fridge/freezer
and dining space. You can choose between unisex communal showers or a
separate private bathroom suite (which also has disabled access). An internet
kiosk and wireless hotspot are available. There is an automatic laundry. Your
new hosts, Tom and Ami  welcome new-comers to naturism and
open the park to day visitors for a small charge. All sites are $17 per adult,
$8.50 per child, or a maximum of $51 per family.

As the name suggests, this camp looks directly over to White Island, with absolute beach access to stunning Waiotahi Beach which is just 5 km from Opotiki, en-route to Whakatane. Adjacent to its sandy shores there are
136 sites with power and taps. The site space is generous with a choice of
open or shady areas. The offce/shop sells basic supplies during peak holiday
times. The kitchen has stoves, microwave cooking and fridge/freezer and the adjacent alfresco dining area is under cover. There are free showers in the ablutions which have plentiful hot water and homely touches. An automatic laundry, gas BBQ’s and dump station are provided. For the fsherfolk, there is a filleting bench on-site and a boat ramp is 5 km away. Kids will enjoy the
swimming pool and games /TV room. Lots of options to add to your holiday
fun & enjoyment including a beachfront volleyball area, tennis court, free kayak
use, hammocks, and playground. Free WiFi. Most accommodation has been
refurbished or newly constructed in the past 3 years.

adult and $9 per child. Seasonal rates, minimum site charges and minimum stay requirements may apply.
