This holiday park with its lovely mountain views and glorious sunsets has
approximately 40 sites amongst tree-lined and sheltered hedges. The
facilities are modern and sparkling, and one of the ablution blocks is ‘5 star’
style, with underfloor heating and other luxurious extras. There is a spa,
sauna, fitness centre and playground here. A courtesy vinatge car pickup
may be available from local restaurants and you can book at the office
for local trips and attractions. The Upukerora River is 250 metres away
where you can go swimming, fishing, and kayaking, pets are welcome by
arrangement so please call first. Your friendly hosts are the Saunders
family. Unpowered sites are from $18 per person, and $20 for powered.

'The home of legends, tall stories and laughter.' A page out of history, set on the banks of a glacial stream at the bottom of the hill before the Homer Tunnel, turn at the Lake Marion/Hollyford track corner. There are no power sites as the only electricity is from a generator, only turned on in the evening so you can charge your camera batteries. A new recreation building is ready and houses a kitchen, ablutions and lounge, this facility has disability access. There is a fridge available in the kitchen/dining area, well actually the fridge is masquerading as a freezer, as there is only enough electricity to run it as a fridge! The camp store has food, a selection of Bowenite Greenstone, NZ books and souvenirs for sale, there is a petrol pump too. This is a great base for hunting, fishing and tramping with many day walks for the family, and the Hollyford and Routeburn tracks are close by. Check out New Zealand_s silver beech tree with the largest girth, or pay a visit the Humboldt waterfall, and in the evening see the glow-worms. Spend some time in the museum and wonder at the difficulties encountered building the Milford Road and Homer Tunnel and see the origins of this unique camp. Campsites are in private hideaways so plenty of privacy, and is owned by The Hollyford Museum Charitable Trust. The management teams are AJ and Sandra, or Debbie and Mark. A little Backpacker Oasis in the heart of Queenstown!

Everything at our Backpacker Lodge has been designed with the discerning traveller in mind, from
the flat-screen TV's in the common areas and private rooms, to the custom designed wooden bunks
with privacy curtains. Our private rooms have hotel standard beds & fluffy pillows. Our lounge has an
extensive DVD library & our two kitchens have free herbs, spices, tea and coffee. We also provide
every guest with free unlimited Wi-Fi for the duration of their stay, naturally!

Whilst we are spread over 3 levels, we are a small Backpackers for fewer than 50 people. This means
that there is more space for you to relax, meet like-minded travelers and plan your adventures in

This is a walk-in, Great Walk campsite in the Iris Burn valley, on the Kepler Track in Fiordland National Park. Bookings required in the Great Walks season. Kea are frequent visitors.

Seasonal restrictions

Kidds Bush Camping Area Number of tent sites - 40 Camp lakeside in a large grassy area with good shade from mountain beech trees. Walk around the lake, go fishing or swimming.

Near the southern tip of Lake Wakatipu, this holiday park is full of mature trees and has a bubbly stream running through it. An ideal stopover between Queenstown/Wanaka and Milford Sound many of the sites have hard pads, and the tent sites are on well drained land. There is a small kitchen with ceramic cook-tops and a small dining room attached. You will find a TV, free videos, books and games in the TV room, and there is a separate room for internet. The ablutions have free showers and heating, there is a laundry and a guest BBQ. The park next door has tennis courts, and there is a café, local pub, and fish and chip shop within strolling distance. If you have any energy left, borrow the complimentary set of golf clubs and try the 9-hole golf course, or hire a bike. You can fish in the lake and there are several tracks nearby, including the round the mountain track which ends/starts in Kingston.

Kinloch Campsite - Camp on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand's longest lake. Explore the area along the Caples or the Greenstone tramping tracks. Swim, kayak, fish or go boating on the lake, or enjoy the scenery.

Right on the edge of Lake Hawea, this is a large camping ground with sites
scattered amongst large established shade trees. There are 100 sites with
power and plenty of tent site, this camp is a great place to view the sunset with
the light shining on the mountains over the lake, which offers a stunning natural
show. The office carries basic supplies and information on all the activities in the area, and there is a big fire place to socialise around. wo basic but clean kitchens with all amenities, one with a TV, also internet access, and free DVD
hire. Two basic, clean ablution blocks and a disability unit, recently painted and
modernised. The shower and toilet block is tidy, and showers are included in
the price. The laundry has automatic equipment and linen to hire, and there is a boat ramp. You can use the camp fishing rods, fish cleaning facilities, plus a fish smoker is provided for your catch. Plenty of activities for children, with a
playground that includes a couple of old tractors, and safe swimming in the lake.
Dogs can stay off-peak (end of January to December 20) and there is 30 mins
free wifi for guests, or you can purchase a 24 hour card. Your hosts are the
Burdon family. Tent sites $17 per adult and power sites from $36 for two adults.
