An immaculately presented camp inside and out, situated only five minutes from the city, this is luxurious camping that you come to expect from Top 10 Holiday Parks. A paved driveway leads to flat ground set out with hard stands and some tent sites., while the pretty hanging baskets and tubs of colourful flowers will make you feel at home. The main facilities are all under one roof for convenience and the kitchen has gas hobs, microwave and fridge, cooking and eating utensils. You can eat and cook either inside or out on the landscaped, covered BBQ terrace. Modern tiled showers are large with wooden benches and a generous disability suite is provided along with unisex ablutions. The tiled and covered laundry area has outside stainless steel sinks and auto machines. The extended tenting area has another kitchen/dining, a large TV lounge and excellent ablutions. A children_s playground and a dump station are on-site, and there is a free internet kiosk. Your friendly hosts are Philip and Diane Todd and family. All sites are from $40 for two.

DESCRIPTION:

Manicured lawns and tidy hedges, landscaped gardens and organic veges, caf_ dining and home-made baking. All this and more at this lovely motel and camping ground complex. Clean and tidy kitchen/dining with all amenities, including full stoves with pots and pans, the TV lounge is adjacent. Ablutions are clean and tidy and there are three laundries. At the entrance to the camp is a popular restaurant for delicious meals, excellent coffee, and a large deck with BBQ area where you can book in for the camp. Inside, the new relaxation area with pool table, flat screen TV, computer stations, juke box, and pull down movie screen has lots of comfy couches scattered around. From this base you can hike the Hump Ridge Track, or check your emails on the free wifi. Ten power points and nine unpowered sites are in a flat area close to native trees, there is also a dump station. Your hosts are Craig Rutland and Violaine Duma. Powered sites are $16 for adults and $14 for non-powered sites. Children under 13 years are half price, toddlers under two years are free.

This lovely spot is definitely a secret waiting to be discovered. Clean modern facilities consisting of toilets, a communal shelter and a children's playground, and parking on hard stands. Take a stroll around the gardens and the lake, which was once a lignite pit, walk over the bridges, enjoy the birdlife and plantings, or take a guided tour. Have a coffee or a meal at the cafe (closed Mon and Tues) and read all about the history of the area, or visit the covered garden. Your friendly hosts are Maree, Barry, Eunice and Charlie. Unpowered is $10 per person, powered is $15 per person - this includes the $2 charge to take the scenic walk and a dump station too. This camp may be closed from beginning June to September. Note that they can only take self-contained vehicles.

A neat camp, complete with a small animal park where you can get acquainted
with the tame animals. Based out in the country amongst rural farmland,
there are rolling hills behind and park like settings in front. With 50 powered sites and numerous tent sites, there is plenty of space. and good trout fishing
rivers nearby. The clean kitchen/dining has all appliances, cooking and eating utensils and a TV, and the ablutions are supplied with piping hot showers, as
well as having plenty of toilets. The laundry has automatic equipment, there is
free wifi and the camp is pet friendly. Your hosts are Colleen, Stuart and the
dog Andrew. Tent and power sites are $16 per person or $32 for two adults.
Children aged five to 15 years are $10, and children under five are free.
Closed for winter from beginning May till mid September

DESCRIPTION:

The grounds of this spot have been beautifully landscaped and the camp has a panoramic view over the sea. Based in an old hall, the lounge is a huge area that includes a stage, a ping pong table, puzzles, and large comfy sofas pulled up around the huge stone fireplace. There is also a TV and piano, as well as a separate library with many books to borrow. The kitchen has served many people in its lifetime, but is immaculate and quirky with Its old wood walls and retro dining chairs and tables. The toilets and showers are plentiful and recently painted, as is the laundry which has automated washing machines and dryers. The whole place is spotlessly clean and welcoming and is a great stopover on the Te Araroa walking track. Your hosts are Craig and Veronica Wylie, and there are 18 sites available for vans and tents. Prices are $20 for one person and $30 for two, extra adults are $15 and children aged five to12 years are $5, while children under five years are free.
