Follow the Rainforest Route (SH38) from Rotorua or Wairoa to Waikaremoana Holiday Park, situated in a beautiful and tranquil bay on the shores of Lake Waikaremoana, the spiritual home of Nai Tuhoe. Great place to base yourself to explore all Te Urewera and Waikaremoana has to offer from short walks, waterfalls, stunning views, bird watching, trout fishing, swimming, kayaking, boating or just relax and soak up the scenery. Camp lakeside with views across the lake to the lush backdrop of native bush There is a well stocked General Store on site with snacks, groceries, petrol & diesel, fishing licences, fishing gear, visitor information and more. Large communal kitchen divided into bays with a stove, hotplates, microwaves, large fridges and freezers. There is an adjoining dining area with great lake views and alfresco dining. Newly refurbished main ablution block including disabled access facilities and other toilet blocks conveniently located around the park. Also available is the automated laundry, card phone, dumps stations, overnight public car park, boat jetty and fish cleaning station. Barbeques are available to hire. Bikes are welcome. No pets are allowed in the Holiday Park or Te Urewera. Tent sites from $15 and powered sites from $18 per adult.
