Kawhia Beachside S-Cape Holiday Park is a small, waterside camp on the approach to Kawhia, it commands lovely harbour views. Laid out in a u-shape fashion, there are 15 sites, 11 with power. At the heart of the camp is a large kitchen with multiple fridges and freezers, 3 full stoves, a microwave as well as cookware, crockery and cutlery. There are lots of tables for dining, both inside and out, a BBQ and a cosy recreation room with SKY TV and books and reading material. A modern ablution complex offers a disabled access/family suite and free showers An automatic coin operated laundry and dump point station are provided. The camp can accommodate RV_s. An enjoyable suburban motor camp, thoughtfully laid-out in a u-shape, but without the glitz of some of the bigger urban camps. You can relax under avenues of shady trees, on box-hedged, sheltered sites that lie well to the sun. 38 sites have power, most have taps and there is plenty of room for tents. An awesome double-storey playhouse and slide will be a hit with the kids. There is a compact kitchen with fridge/freezer, gas stoves and hobs and a selection of small appliances. The modern ablutions have roomy, free showers and two separate disabled access/family bathroom suites. Extras include a drinks vending machine and TV lounge, along with an internet kiosk. An automatic laundry (with soap vending machine) and a dump station is provided. As this is a busy urban camp, it is wise to pre-book all year round.

Narrows Park is a charitable trust, administered by staff and governed by the
Narrows Park Ministry Trust. This relaxed camp is set in picturesque rural
grounds, 10 minutes drive south of Hamilton and used mainly by groups.
Casual campers, looking for a peaceful spot, are welcome on the 25 powered
sites scattered about the rolling grounds. Groves of shady Acacia trees ring
the perimeter and tent sites are plentiful. The basic camper’s kitchen has a
stove and a refrigerator. The two well-scrubbed blocks of ablutions have free
showers and a disabled access toilet. The laundry has an automatic washer
and dryer. The camp offers a swimming pool. Al Belcher is the director,
office staff host, they would prefer you to ring in advance to check availability.
Eftpos and credit card facilities are available.
Non-powered sites are $22 per person per night and powered sites are $24 per person per night.

If you_re looking for a quiet location, close to the town swimming pool and an easy drive to Hamilton and Cambridge, this camp is ideal. There are two entrances, with a separate drive further along Bond Street that offers good access for larger vehicles. Sunny, level lawn sites, with plenty of taps are spread across two terraces. The immaculate amenities include a sparkling modern kitchen with full stove, microwave and hot plate cooking, plus a fridge/freezer. The ablutions are equally inviting, with roomy free showers, bathroom extras and a disabled access suite. A laundry and a dump station are provided. The kids have a trampoline and modest play area. Backing onto the famed Otorohanga Kiwi House & Native Bird Park and
with the town domain on the other boundary, this small, neat camp is a great
holiday spot. Shaded by mature trees and offering a number of hard stands for campervans, you can hear kiwi call at night and view glow worms in the
bush nearby. The facilities block includes a well-appointed kitchen with clean
ablutions, hot shower and a laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer
($2 coins). There are 14 powered sites. This camp ground is cared for (apart
from cleaning) by volunteers who are very hospitable and welcoming. All
profits from this camp go to the Otorohanga Kiwi House, a Not-for-Profit
conservation and wildlife centre taking care of Kiwis, native birds and reptiles
adjacent to the camp. Powered sites for camper vans cost $14 per adult per
night and $7 for children per night (plus a $7 daily power surcharge per site);
unpowered sites for tents cost $14 per adult per night and $7 for children.

Situated on a farm, 1 km east of Waitomo village, this backpackers hostel offers
convenient camping around it’s pleasant, elevated grounds. There are some
stunning campsites (4 with power), with great views out over the Waitomo
Valley. All the facilities, including internet access, are in the lodge. Designed
to capture the views and the sun, the lodge has a wrap-around deck with BBQ
and outdoor dining space or dine alfresco using one of the timber-slab picnic
tables dotted around the grounds. There is a swimming pool, tennis court,
basketball court, and a very relaxed atmosphere - with various farm animals

large flat area over looking Lake Karapiro . You may park in the camp and pay
during office hours. A new and modern kitchen has a stove, fridge, hot water
sinks, tables and chairs. Good hot water showers and toilets. A laundry with
2 washing machines and 2 dryers. A dump station; no dogs please. Powered
sites from $18 for adults. Non powered sites from $16 $13 for children under
12 years.
