Tucked on the Manawatu riverbank at the northeastern end of Dittmer Drive, this is manicured park-like camping in the heart of the city. Large trees provide shelter and shade and continue the ambience of the adjacent Victoria Esplanade Gardens where bush walks, aviary, rose gardens, the Lido Aquatic Park, an adventure playground and miniature train will keep the younger family members entertained. There’s room to move, with around 85 tent sites and 75 powered sites - 30 or so with double hard-paved stands, waste and sewerage drop points. The abundant facilities are tidy and clean, with a large TV room and kitchen with electric stove and a number of gas rings. There is an excellent coin-operated automatic laundry, refrigerated lockers. Dump station provided. No animals please and Eftpos available. Your hosts are Sue & Peter and Peter & Raewyn.
