Pounawea Motor Camp

Once you get to the beach, turn right and go to the end of the street. This camp nestled in amongst large trees, and surrounded by scenic reserve bush, is right on the waterfront at the mouth of the estuary. With 37 power sites, and many tent sites, you can nestle in amongst the trees, or perch on the waterfront. There Is also access to a private beach through the back fence. You will find a free BBQ and picnic areas under the many trees, as well as bush and beach walks. The central amenities block has excellent facilities, and in the modern kitchen you will find a microwave, gas and electric cooking, cooking and eating utensils plus a beautiful macrocarpa slab table. This room extends to a small lounge that has an open fire and satellite TV. Commercial auto washers and dryers are provided, and there is a children_s playground just down the road.
