As you head out to the Banks Peninsula, this campground is the first as you come in, and the last when you leave. and only an hour from the airport. Eco camping at its best, park amongst the native trees on sheltered, shady sites, in the bush or by the river. The showers are free and hot _ one with a shub – and the toilets are eco waterless loos _ all quirky and a bit retro. There is a sheltered kitchen with fridge, stove, plus washing up facilities, and you can eat outside at the tables scattered around the park. A BBQ is available and the children will enjoy the trampoline and slippery slides in the playground, or exploring nature. Relax in the wooded glade or take a walk through Manaia Native Habitat. Enjoy five hectares of ancient trees and the sounds of native birds with the stunning valley views or a paddle in the river. Food and petrol are available at Little River, there are ten power sites available here. Your friendly hosts are Marcus and Megan, and dogs are welcome by arrangement. Fees are $15 per adult, $10 for kids and children under three are free. Power is $5 extra. The price includes admission to native habitat and free wifi.
