Closest to the start of the Abel Tasman National Park walks, and with views out to the beach, is this lively and happy campground. Everyone here was walking around with smiles on their faces, it looked like a sociable place to park up. There are plenty of tent sites in this garden spot, which enjoys the sound of the sea and birdsong. The grounds are level, with pukekos running around and a shady border of trees. Copses of natural bush are dotted around the camp to provide additional shelter. There is a mini camp store which also sells reasonably priced wine and beer, and a caf_ and bus stop are next door. The ablutions are well-kept and have disability facilities. There is a new block of showers with a view, and the open-style kitchen and dining area has an extension with several BBQs, help yourself to herbs out of the garden too. The laundry has automatic equipment. Enjoy an evening on the large communal deck with a camp fire and native trees all around. Water-taxi bookings are available here, you can leave your car parked safely too. Your hosts are Peter and Donna. Tent sites are from $16 per person and power sites $18 per person.
