DESCRIPTION:

Mahurangi West
Driving North on State Highway 1, 6km past Wenderholm Regional Park,
turnright into Mahurangi West Rd then right into Ngarewa Drive and follow
tothe end of the road. There is another 8km to travel, the last 2 of which are
unsealed. There are two remote camping sites within the park. Te Muri Beach
and Mita Bay, both of which have no power and no vehicle access. Adults
$6 and children $4. For camping with vehicle access, there is Sullivan’s Bay,
adjacent to a delightful beach with grassy banks and pohutukawa trees for
shade. Adults $13 and children $6 The park also has toilets (some with
wheelchair access).

Mahurangi East
Access to Mahurangi East is by boat or kayak only. There is a small remote
camp site in a natural setting, handy to two beaches. Amenities include
long droptoilet and drinking water. It is only a short distance by water from
Mahurangi West or Salt Point. $6 per adult and $4 per child. There is a
designated area for self-contained campervans at Mahurangi West. Annual
passes are available for non-peak period camping. Dogs are not permitted at
Mahurangi East or West. There are no rubbish bins provided so be prepared
to take all rubbish when you leave
