Opoutere Coastal Camping is set alongside the Wharekawa Wildlife Sanctuary and broad sweep of Opoutere surf beach. This coastal hideaway is just 5 km from SHwy 25 and less than two hours drive from Auckland airport. The camp is open Labour Weekend to the end of April, and the offce/shop at the entrance offers basic supplies and controls the barrier arm card access way. Choose from a mixture of 25 powered and plenty of non-powered sites spread across bush-ringed grounds. There are two ablution blocks with unisex metered shower cubicles and a disabled access suite. The kitchens have all the usual equipment (no oven) and a covered verandah with BBQ for relaxed, outdoor meals. An automatic laundry and dump station are provided and the camp is suited to large vehicles. Enjoy the bushwalks and beachwalks, mountain biking and kayaking on hand. For conservation reasons no pets are allowed. Non powered sites are from $15 to $19 per person. Powered sites are from $15 to $23 per person. Seasonal rates apply.
