Camp Kiwi Holiday Park
This holiday park has closed.
Backing onto the famed Otorohanga Kiwi House & Native Bird Park and
with the town domain on the other boundary, this small, neat camp is a great
holiday spot. Shaded by mature trees and offering a number of hard stands for campervans, you can hear kiwi call at night and view glow worms in the
bush nearby. The facilities block includes a well-appointed kitchen with clean
ablutions, hot shower and a laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer
($2 coins). There are 14 powered sites. This camp ground is cared for (apart
from cleaning) by volunteers who are very hospitable and welcoming. All
profits from this camp go to the Otorohanga Kiwi House, a Not-for-Profit
conservation and wildlife centre taking care of Kiwis, native birds and reptiles
adjacent to the camp. Powered sites for camper vans cost $14 per adult per
night and $7 for children per night (plus a $7 daily power surcharge per site);
unpowered sites for tents cost $14 per adult per night and $7 for children.
