DESCRIPTION:

This nice little camp at the base of Farewell Spit is well groomed and on level
grounds, with landscaped gardens and tree borders. The communal area has
a kitchen and a nice retro dining room, another kitchen is on the end of the
nearby ablution block and the two kitchens include gas hobs, microwave, fridge/
freezer, crockery and cutlery. The modern portable ablutions block is roomy,
with gas hot water and a good shower, and there are disabled facilities available.
The laundry has an automatic washer and a bonus is the pure drinking water.
You can book your Farewell Spit trips or stroll from east coast to the west
coast from the camp. Six powered sites and numerous tent sites are $18 per
person plus $4 per site for power.

On the edge of Motueka township is this lovely campground with well-kept grounds and beautiful mature shade trees. With 30 power sites and a landscaped area for tents in a garden setting, as well as a clean and inviting pool, this is a peaceful oasis. Guest facilities include free wifi and an organic kitchen garden, you can also buy free range eggs at reception. There is a separate comfy TV lounge, playground and large trampoline, as well as free storage and late check out. The smart new ablutions have hot showers with hairdryers, and there is a disability/family bathroom also available. The laundry and kitchen are fully equipped and everything is spotlessly clean and tidy. Several outdoor picnic tables have been provided, some are under cover. Being on the Great Taste cycle trail this is a great spot to stop, or you can hire bikes here to join the trail. Your very friendly hosts are Tony and Judith Peters. Tent sites from $18 per person, power sites from $21 per person. Your pets are welcome by arrangement, not in the rented accommodation though.

approximately 40 sites amongst tree-lined and sheltered hedges. The
facilities are modern and sparkling, and one of the ablution blocks is ‘5 star’

may be available from local restaurants and you can book at the office

and a dining space with a separate TV and internet room. A clean ablution
block has a disability/family suite, plus a children’s bath and a laundry with
up-to-date automatic equipment. The other two sets of ablutions are well
appointed and clean with well-lined roomy showers serviced by gas water
heating and hairdryers. You can cook inside in the kitchen with all amenities or
outside under the covered BBQ area. All the mod cons here, and everything
is immaculately presented and clean as a whistle, and you will appreciate the
under floor heating in the bathrooms if staying in winter! A great adventure
playground has been provided for the children, as well as pedal cars for hire.
Parents, however, will love the new spa room. Other amenities include a
dump point, phones and free internet, while there is a licensed restaurant with
takeaways close by. Your adventure trips can start here with many activities to

Out beyond the hurly burly of the township, is this park complex that enjoys views of the mountains that are breath taking. Around 100 powered sites are ranged around the rear of the property, away from the road and with that view. All are on hard stands with a grassed area between, and a picnic table, while tents are ranged on the grassed areas. Two blocks of facilities offer large open plan kitchen and dining areas, including highchairs, and plenty of windows to let in the view. The ablutions are modern and all are spotlessly clean, the laundry has the normal washer and dryer, but the added benefit of a tub as well. There is a covered BBQ area where you can sit and watch the children on the playground, but if the weather turns bad, the games room has a pool table, arcade games, and table hockey, while the TV room is right next door. All activities can be booked from here, including helicopter rides, or take a walk up Paganini Hill for a fantastic view of the mountains. Your friendly hosts are Melissa and Cameron Blanchfield. Tent sites range from is $42 for two adults, powered sites from $46 for two. Children aged three to 14 are $12, and two or under are free. Off season rates available.

The only camp situated in the middle of town, this is a picturesque setting with well-spaced sites among huge specimen trees. There are a number of hard stands for vans, lots of room for tents, and all in attractive gardens. The kitchen is bright and roomy with a huge recycled wood dining table taking centre stage. Cooking by stove or hot plates, with fridges, toasters, microwave and all cooking utensils provided. Or use the free BBQ and sit outside in the covered dining area. The clean and tidy ablutions have showers in spacious cubicle, and the laundry has excellent automatic equipment and an iron. Taps are plentiful and there is a dump station. There is an appealing playground for children, including a basketball hoop, and other attractions are a petanque pit, outdoor chess, bike or pedal cart hire, or go for a walk in the public park across the road, there is plenty to do. Eftpos and credit card friendly with internet available.

Very addictive camping with all the extras, including 24-hour internet hotspot, and an attractive, tropically bambooed fresh water hot tub and sauna area. In a pristine setting, the well-groomed sites are dotted with trees and this is the only campground in the centre of town but on the edge of the lake. Spacious well designed kitchens open to a bricked patio that invites alfresco dining, or use the brand new BBQ. A TV lounge with Sky offers comfort in a relaxed atmosphere, there is also a games room. The smart ablutions have under floor heating, disability and family bathroom facilities, segregated and unisex facilities are available. The laundry has excellent automatic machines, ironing equipment and a vacuum cleaner. Children will enjoy travelling on the good ship _Mountain View_ which will keep them safely at anchor while the parents sit under the _rustic_ gazebo for a chat, or they may like to play on the new jumping pillow. Free wireless internet Is provided and you can hire mountain bikes here. The sites include 80 with power and some especially for winter parking. Bryan and Georgia McChlery and their staff will look after you. Sites for two people are from $20, children under 14 years are from $10 each.

Just off the main highway is this beautiful camp with around four acres of park like grounds, lovely gardens and shady trees. Only opened a couple of years ago so everything is bright, cheery and new. A central amenities area, all immaculately clean, houses the toilets, showers, and kitchen. There is a really nice shaded outdoor area complete with free BBQs, slab wood tables and leaners, and a trampoline. It looks like a great spot to relax with other campers. Lots of freezer space for your catch, a fully equipped kitchen, and you can even grab some herbs, the odd lettuce, tomatoes or strawberries from the vegetable garden. The large sites have easy access and free wifi, and is pets are welcome by arrangement. The Waitaki River is close by for great salmon fishing and white baiting in season, and walking distance to the Glenavy Hotel or the local store. Eftpos and credit cards are accepted and Joe and Anne Lomas will offer you a very warm and friendly welcome. There are 36 powered sites at $20 for each adult, and $30 for two, or 36 unpowered sites at $15 per person.

A full holiday experience, this property stretches along 1500 metres of tranquil lakefront with the Southern Alps rising steeply in the background. The beauty is ageless and the 100% pure water is a bonus. With a boat ramp available, the petrol pump in camp is handy, and a shop that is open during the season is a bonus too. The children have a great playground, as well as acres of room to run around, and plenty of water to swim in. The ablutions are sturdy but clean and tidy, with metered showers, and there is a good range of laundry equipment as well as plenty of outdoor taps and a dump point. Of the two kitchens one has a big logburner with a sociable number of tables and chairs, and the large, covered outdoor BBQ area is a great success. Level camping offers 150 power sites and a multitude of tents, most with lake views. Pets are welcome in the off-season by arrangement. Tent and power sites $16 per person. Children aged 4 to14 years are $7, children under 4years are free.

On the southern outskirts of Timaru is this rural retreat amongst the trees. The grounds are level, with easy access to all sites, and are landscaped with nice trees and shrubs. An attractive kidney-shaped pool is in a fenced enclosure with deck chairs, just outside the fence is a playground and a springfree trampoline. The all-in-one service block is clean, bright and attractive and houses nice kitchen and dining area, a TV lounge with internet kiosk, and all the ablutions. The laundry has automatic equipment tucked into the corridor and there is a dump point available. Seventy powered sites (at $40 per night) , and 50 unpowered (at $38 per night), all with water taps. There is a wetlands bird sanctuary 20 mins walk along the beach, a peaceful country atmosphere but only a 3 minute drive to central Timaru and the world renown Caroline Bay beach.

DESCRIPTION:

The Gore Bay campsite is on both sides of Moody Street, with the shore
side camp set above the beach with access to the water and views to die for.
There are some stately norfolk pines and hedges for shelter and the facilities
are spotlessly clean with hot showers and a disability suite. A combination
porch style kitchen, dining and laundry area has cooking equipment, a fridge/freezer and an auto washing machine, all clean and tidy. The beach is safe for swimming and great for surfing. A card phone is close by.
You will see Buxton Camp as you drive in, right on the beach front. You can choose your own site and set if after checking the bookings board/map in the kitchen kiosk. It has new gas hot showers which are really good!

A flat paddock with the sea just over the bank, camping is around the perimeter so it can be used for cricket and bikes. There is an outside kitchen area for washing dishes, and basic but clean hot showers and toilets. Beside this camp is a childrens’ playground.
Neither camp has Eftpos or credit card facilities and no dogs are allowed.

POWERED SITES

Campervans/caravans must have a current Electrical Warrant of Fitness if plugging in to our powered site outlets, and power leads must be a minimum of 10 metres. Tents or vans plugging into power can only use an approved and tested ‘camping style’ power cord (with 3 long round pins), at least 10m long, with a safety RCD. Please make sure you have your WoF documentation and your tested, tagged power cord available for us to check if asked. You cannot connect vans or tents on multiple sites to one power source. Management reserves the right to unplug any connection that does not comply with regulations. Generators are not permitted at any time.

This camp is at the southern end of Greymouth, use the new walkway/cycle
path to the beach, or let the children play in the well-equipped playground that
includes a jumping pillow. With around 50 power sites, some of these are on
hard stands for vans, and the same number of tents sites, all on level grounds
and with BBQ tables. The two kitchens provide excellent cooking and dining
facilities, one opening to a pleasant TV room with internet, and a small indoor
BBQ room. Ablutions are clean and modern, with liquid soap and disability
friendly. There are plenty of automatic washers and dryers in the laundry, as well
as sofas, chairs, TV and internet to use while you wait. Other attractions include
a games room with pool and air hockey tables, as well as arcade machines, a
private spa pool can be booked, and a dump point is provided. For some extra
fun go-carts can be hired and there is a shop located in the reception area.

What a great use for an old rural school grounds, this nicely laid out campground has sites that are large, level and sheltered. All the facilities are clean, modern, and recently painted. There is both electricity and gas in the kitchen and dining area, and all utensils are provided in this large, bright and airy room. Excellent free showers plus a separate toilet block with disabled access, the auto machines available in the laundry are free too. What used to be the school hall, with its lovely old wooden floors, is now a large lounge and games room with a good library and TV. The heated swimming pool, playground with a jumping pillow, and a tennis court, including tennis rackets, are all freely available for campers use. Attractions outside the camp include a golf course, forest walks, white water rafting and four wheel drive trips. There is also excellent trout and salmon fishing here. Your host is Dave Moss. Tent sites $16 for one, $10 for each extra, powered sites $36 for two, $15 for each extra person.

'The home of legends, tall stories and laughter.' A page out of history, set on the banks of a glacial stream at the bottom of the hill before the Homer Tunnel, turn at the Lake Marion/Hollyford track corner. There are no power sites as the only electricity is from a generator, only turned on in the evening so you can charge your camera batteries. A new recreation building is ready and houses a kitchen, ablutions and lounge, this facility has disability access. There is a fridge available in the kitchen/dining area, well actually the fridge is masquerading as a freezer, as there is only enough electricity to run it as a fridge! The camp store has food, a selection of Bowenite Greenstone, NZ books and souvenirs for sale, there is a petrol pump too. This is a great base for hunting, fishing and tramping with many day walks for the family, and the Hollyford and Routeburn tracks are close by. Check out New Zealand_s silver beech tree with the largest girth, or pay a visit the Humboldt waterfall, and in the evening see the glow-worms. Spend some time in the museum and wonder at the difficulties encountered building the Milford Road and Homer Tunnel and see the origins of this unique camp. Campsites are in private hideaways so plenty of privacy, and is owned by The Hollyford Museum Charitable Trust. The management teams are AJ and Sandra, or Debbie and Mark. Primary aged children are $6 and under 5 years are free. There is no phone here due to its remote location so make your bookings by email.

There are 50 powered sites and as many for tents. the camp is generously supplied with amenities. There are two old but clean kitchen/dining rooms, one has a spacious living room with a diesel burner, good furnishings and TV. The ablutions are plentiful, one basic and one modern, but both clean and tidy plus one with a disability suite. Cape Cod chairs under the verandah with the BBQs, and picnic tables are positioned around the camp. There is an excellent laundry, the camp store is well stocked, and internet is available. Your friendly hosts are Alf and Lorriane. Tent sites are $15 per adult, powered sites are $36 for two, while children aged 5 to 15 years are $8 and under five years are free.

An excellent location for hunting and bird watching, this complex has motorhome parks that are mostly sealed to cope with the coast weather, there are also a number of lawn sites however. A number of power sites have been formed close to the amenities recently. The modern and clean kitchen has everything supplied, including pots and pans. This adjoins an open plan dining and an attractive lounge that is pleasantly furnished. The ablutions are smart with and tidy, while the laundry has washing machines and dryers, as well as other extras. Showers will cost you 50c and a dump point is on site. The office doubles as a well-stocked shop, includes a credit card phone, and eftpos is accepted here. Dogs are welcome on prior arrangement only, and your hosts are Greg and Nathalie Hope. Just outside of Hanmer Springs, is this spacious campground that takes you back to your childhood school camps. Tent and campervan sites are polka dotted between deciduous trees, all on flat land and with that beautiful forest all around you. The amenities include five well-appointed kitchens and dining rooms, and numerous shower and toilet blocks. There is a purpose built building with facilities for disabled people, and an exciting playground. This camp is well set up for large groups and with the new upgrades everything is spick and span. You can leave from here for a trip to the Molesworth Station, go fishing, mountain biking, skiing or tramping in the area. Tent sites and unpowered campervan sites cost $14 per adult and 76 per child. Please note that if the camp is hosting a school group, it cannot take casual campers so book ahead to avoid disappointment.

This is the closest camp to the village and thermal pools of Hanmer Springs.
There are level sites for the camper within the busy area, or others that are
more secluded, many with large shade trees. The kitchen with a stove and
microwave, opens to a bright friendly dining room, and a tiled ablution block  has a bath in the ladies area. A second facilities block has toilets, showers and
a new family bathroom, there is also another well-equipped modern kitchen.
The second dining room and adjoining modern kitchen with ranch sliders is
located in the back camping area, and the gas BBQ is popular for alfresco
dining. Disabled suites are available in both camping areas. An exciting
adventure play area has a jumping pillow, and a trampoline for the children.
You can play squash, watch TV, enjoy the swap library or go on the internet.
Fun bikes can be hired for use in the park, as can mountain bikes. Your hosts
are Richard, Jeremie, and Laura and prices are available on enquiry.

Half way between Motueka and Mapua is this gorgeous spot on the edge of Kina Beach, just out of Tasman. A small camp is nestled amongst trees, each spot is spacious in its own little posse, and has a small gas barbecue and outdoor furniture on each site. The toilets and showers are clean and tidy one having disability access, and the modern kitchen has all amenities, while the laundry has automatic washers and a dryer. Kayak on the Kina Inlet, visit the wineries or arts and craft shops. Five power or tent sites are available from $40 for two (summer). Weekly and winter rates available.Self contained units, sleeps 2-8 people. Fully equipped kitchens, Freeview TV, electric blanket and heating. Cot and high chair and breakfast available. From $100 for two people. On-site caravan, sleeps 2-6 people. Fully equipped including linen. Kitchen facilities, communal toilet/shower laundry, barbecues, outdoor furniture. From $65 for two.
