Midway between Rotorua and Taupo, on the busy SH 5, is this once proud camping ground. Unfortunately, it was looking a bit run down when we visited, it is to be hoped that the new owners do a bit of garden maintenance to get it back up to scratch. But if you don't want manicured lawns, this is an excellent base for the great trout fishing nearby. There are 21 power sites divided by boxed hedges, and a variety of tent sites - some down by the stream that
runs beside the camp. Bush tracks with boardwalks meander through the lower part of the camp giving an nice setting to the natural thermal hot pools provided free for people staying. There is a small kitchen with fridge and ovens,
and a TV room is available. The licensed restaurant is not open currently, but hoping to be back up and running soon. Laundry machines are available as is, a free gas BBQ.
