Situated in the hills above Akaroa village, this park has an enviable location. Carefully maintained, some of the terraced sites have bay views. Easy access with trim flowerbeds at each level of the 150 sites. Most have power, storm
water drains and taps. An area is available for boat parking and there are two dump points in the camp. There is a big in-ground swimming pool on the upper level and a good children’s playground. Enjoy views over the bay from the attractive kitchen or use the gas BBQ. TV rooms are provided and internet access. The amenities include excellent showers and automatic laundry equipment. It is an easy walk to the township for shopping, but a climb on the way back. In summer, ice creams and drinks are available at the office. Your friendly hosts are Kylee and Tracy.

At the end of the road, 2km from Hanmer Village, is this extensive park with spacious sites and lovely mountain views. Well-serviced with sealed roads and over 60 campsites, there are also large trees for shade. The clean kitchen has all appliances with a dining area next door, as well as BBQ tables outside under shade sails. The ablutions are excellent and have a disability unit, there is also a drying room opening off the laundry. The separate games room has
table tennis, pool and air hockey as well as arcade games, and you won't find a better children's playground - it comes complete with an initiative course! For those who want to relax, there is a comfy TV lounge with an internet station,
a petanque pit, or cool off in the swimming pool. There are bikes available for hire, both children and adult sizes available. Wireless internet and a dump station are here for campers.

This camp is well presented and designed with care and thought. Camping is on level ground, divided by limestone drives. The trees and fencing help with privacy. Picnic tables are scattered around the sites. An excellent, clean all-in one service block with tile floors, a fully equipped kitchen , toilets, shower, and a laundry with auto machines and an internet station. A large covered deck around two sides has table & chairs and Sky TV. A separate covered area has

The main kitchen is very pleasant, light and airy with absolutely everything.
Adjacent is a roomy dining/lounge/TV area with a DVD. In addition to

The picturesque Belt Road Seaside Holiday Park urban camp offers level, cliff-top sites with spectacular views over the New Plymouth harbour and port. Mature Pohutukawa trees shade the grounds. Hedged private sites are very inviting. There are around 70 sites with power, plus 43 for tents. Amenities are plentiful and well maintained. Ablutions are in four separate blocks with key access (no extra to pay) and two disabled/family bathrooms are available. Newest communal facility, boast unisex cubicles, including a family bathroom and a disabled bathroom, super large kitchen, laundry, and a lounge with Sky TV (Sports and movies) The three kitchens have a range of cooking options, coffee and food dispensing kiosks and there_s a large covered outdoor area with a coin-operated BBQ. Three well-equipped laundries and a dump point are provided. To keep the smaller members of the family entertained there is a trampoline, and playground. Nearby activities include access to a boat ramp, game fishing, the aquatic centre, mineral pools, or try the coastal walk that starts from the camp and heads straight down to Breakerwater Bay shops and cafes. A picturesque 25 minute drive from Nelson, and 2hrs from Picton, turn off at the Cable Bay road at Hira and travel 8km further on a sealed road. This camp with stunning bay views is on the historic cable station site where the first telegraph link came from Sydney in 1876. Large mature native trees surround this camp, and an extra well-sheltered, tenting area over the creek includes a tenting oasis, and in the creek are tame eels. The ablutions are modern and spotless and include disability facilities, while the kitchen has gas hobs, microwaves, fridges and a BBQ under the front covered veranda. At the rear of the building is a laundry with auto washer and dryer. There is safe swimming at the beach, great kayaking, the Cable Bay walkway, a boat ramp (4WD only) and a safety trampoline for the children. Wifi is available and camping with dogs is by request, please book first. The whole area is steeped in history, so talk to your friendly hosts.

What a beautiful setting this camping ground is in. A well cared for, tree
sheltered camp with numerous tent sites and 10 power points. You can enjoy
peace and quiet in a relaxed atmosphere. A round of golf maybe, or a walk
to the top of the hill to take in the views, perhaps you would like to try your
hand at fishing in the nearby rivers. A swimming pool with a deck, seating and
a BBQ is provided for your enjoyment. The roomy fully equipped kitchen/
dining area has been upgraded and there are plenty of tables and chairs, as well
as provision for outside dining. The laundry has new coin operated washers
and dryers, and the ablutions are very clean, with towels available for campers.
Pets are welcome by arrangement. Per night prices are, power sites are $35 for two, $25 for one. Non powered are $30 for two and $20 for one. Extra Adults are $10 each and Children are $5 each per night.

The attractively landscaped grounds are tucked into a sheltered bay with water
on two sides and a golf course on the third. Camp on sunny, terraced sites

convenient camping around it’s pleasant, elevated grounds. There are some
stunning campsites (4 with power), with great views out over the Waitomo
Valley. All the facilities, including internet access, are in the lodge. Designed
to capture the views and the sun, the lodge has a wrap-around deck with BBQ

roomy grassed sites, 76 of which have power. There is a good playground that
includes a jumping pillow, and the kitchen and dining complex is attractive and
well equipped. Outside there is a pleasant BBQ pavilion for alfresco dining.
The spotless ablutions have a disability/infant suite and the laundry has fully
automatic equipment. You can enjoy either the outdoor, heated swimming
pool or the popular spa pool, and a card phone is provided for your use. Fish
cleaning facilities are available and there is a dump point, as well as internet

Near the southern tip of Lake Wakatipu, this holiday park is full of mature trees and has a bubbly stream running through it. An ideal stopover between Queenstown/Wanaka and Milford Sound many of the sites have hard pads, and the tent sites are on well drained land. There is a small kitchen with ceramic cook-tops and a small dining room attached. You will find a TV, free videos, books and games in the TV room, and there is a separate room for internet. The ablutions have free showers and heating, there is a laundry and a guest BBQ. The park next door has tennis courts, and there is a café, local pub, and fish and chip shop within strolling distance. If you have any energy left, borrow the complimentary set of golf clubs and try the 9-hole golf course, or hire a bike. You can fish in the lake and there are several tracks nearby, including the round the mountain track which ends/starts in Kingston.

Mangatutu Hot Springs is a popular camping, picnic and fishing spot, and a starting point for tramping, hunting or day walks up the Mohaka River and further into the Kaweka Forest Park. There are picnic tables and toilets located in secluded clearings among the manuka surrounds, and there are access tracks descending to the Mohaka River. The main feature here is the thermal springs. Thermal water issues from a deep, undercut, steaming hole on the top terrace. The water trickles down a riverside bluff and after a short way is channeled into two pools.

An easy sealed drive to Tauranga Bay brings you to a sweep of orange sandy
beach that borders the camp. A boat ramp is nearby. From the camp you
can arrange a boat charter for fishing trips, harbour cruises, dive courses or
dive trips to the Rainbow Warrior. There are basic supplies at the office/camp
store all year with good summer stock. Internet is available. The 150 level sites
(120 have power) are well drained but little shade. Secure boat and trailer
parking is provided. Two kitchens are operational when the camp is busy, both
are clean, with gas hobs set into tiled benches, microwaves and a fridge/freezer.
There is a outdoor BBQ corner nearby. The two kitchen and ablution blocks
vary, with one being larger they offer ($1 token-operated) showers, with
separate blocks providing toilets. The two laundries have automatic machines.

Amongst mature oak trees. this park features hanging bridges, treehuts, giant
swings and the longest flying fox in New Zealand’s holiday park. Bush-clad
hills rise above you in the distance and the grounds are dotted with stately
old oak trees. A deep artesian spring supplies the camp with mineral water
and feeds the ‘rock pool’ thermal bath available free to campers. Enjoy the
grass tennis court, swimming pool and BBQs. In a quiet setting, the camp
is enclosed by farmland with provision for grazing if you are travelling with
equine companions. Amenities include, a serviceable kitchen with stove,
electric hobs, microwave and fridge/freezer; bright, tidy ablutions and a basic
automatic laundry and a dump station. There is a games and TV room, with

The wild wild west comes to the South Island in this campground based in rural
farmland. Buildings that range from logs cabins to corrugated huts, through
to mud brick houses, it is an interesting place to recharge your batteries, or a comfortable stopover on your journey. A large and level grassed area is
provided for both powered and non powered sites, with very large trees for
shade. Not wanting anyone to be hemmed in, there is plenty of space for
everyone. Rustic and quirky are words that come to mind here, don't expect
spotless amenities and manicured lawns. Facilities include showers and toilets,
a small camp kitchen, and a large common room with table tennis and large
couches so you have somewhere out of the rain if needed. The outside BBQ
dining area, doubles as the limited wifi hotspot. Walks through the forest, huge
trees to admire, or look at the 'old stuff' shed. Your hosts are Stephen and

The sealed road to Waimarama winds through rural hill country, 30 minutes drive from Havelock North. This large, flat, seaside camp has 30 caravan sites and 18 powered tent sites available, with the adjoining paddock used in peak periods. It is safe for children with one gate in and out. The golden, sandy beach is surf patrolled during the summer. From the camp it is a two minute walk to the domain and beach. The small and well-loved kitchen has gas cookers, microwave and fridge. The ablutions consist of two toilets and two coin operated showers (one with a shub/bath) each for men and women, plus a disabled access toilet. There is a small play area for toddlers. Three gas BBQs are available in an under-cover dining area. Your hosts are Karen and Ed who can be found at 15 Harper Street when the office is closed. Powered sites are $25 and un-powered $20 for adults, children (under 13) are half price and under 5s free.

Really get away from it all at the Waingaro Hot Springs and camp, 24 km west of Ngaruawahia next to the Waingaro Hotel. Camp on 40 powered sites set on pleasant sunny terraces (divided by bush and shrubbery) above the pools. The amenities are small, with a functional kitchen and a communal room with kitchenette. The well-used ablutions are in three blocks and extra toilets are handily placed about the grounds. Two automatic laundries and a dump station are provided. There are plenty of BBQs, picnic tables and children’s play areas about the grounds. Although the camp store at the entrance has limited supplies, we advise campers to stock-up in advance. Please do not bring pets here.

Don't expect manicured lawns and clearly marked sites in this cute little camp with a difference. Lovely gardens hide a multitude of historic railway guard vans, five powered sites and the room for tents. You can cook a meal at the station kitchen which doubles as a dining room. A lovely outside dining and BBQ area, covered with climbing plants and including a swing seat, is available also. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and the separate TV and recreation room includes comfy seating and a large TV. The ablutions area is clean, and have free showers, there is also a coin operated laundry available. A children's play area has a climbing frame and there is a large chess set on the paving stones. Your friendly hosts are David and Karen. Amberley is just 10km away for supplies, and please note there is no eftpos available. Power sites are $30 for two plus $10 each extra person, a tent site is $25 plus $10 per extra person.

This camp is easily accessible in a level garden setting, and is only 6kms from Havelock. The ablution facilities are first class, with a disability unit, and the kitchen is excellent with a covered outside dining BBQ area. A good laundry and a comfortable TV and games room are provided in the 'Deadwood Saloon'. Trampoline and volleyball are available, the local river is good for trout fishing and many activities can be accessed from Havelock including the mail boat run.
