Part of a camping and motel complex, this retro campground has basic facilities but is spotlessly clean. Great for big groups, the large kitchen has room for two long dining tables, as well as cooking space around three walls. The roominess and cleanliness is mirrored in the large toilet and laundry areas, where there are all the facilities you need. There are 20 powered and unpowered sites available for motorhomes, caravans and tents, and all sites are close to the amenities block. There is a dump station, wifi is available, and the popular Stables restaurant is on site. This family restaurant is open to all diners, house guests and the public, offering a good quality bistro type menu in comfortable and informal surroundings, and is fully licensed. Right in the heart on Invercargill, this camp surprises you with its large mature trees and well looked after gardens. There are 30 power and tent sites tucked away round the back of this city street. The main amenities block has an excellent large kitchen/dining/lounge with appliances and a huge variety of eating and cooking utensils, and a whiteboard to leave messages for fellow travellers. There is wheel chair access and a separate shower and toilet room and are in pristine condition with eco-friendly lighting, gas hot water, and electronically controlled showers. The laundry has coin operated auto washers and dryers, 200mb of free wifi per adult per night, and a dump station. This camp is close to supermarkets, the famous _Splash Palace_ and a ten minute walk to the centre of town. Powered sites are $22 for one adult, $37 for two, extras $16. Non-powered sites are $18 for one, or $33 for two, extras $16.

This lovely spot is definitely a secret waiting to be discovered. Clean modern facilities consisting of toilets, a communal shelter and a children's playground, and parking on hard stands. Take a stroll around the gardens and the lake, which was once a lignite pit, walk over the bridges, enjoy the birdlife and plantings, or take a guided tour. Have a coffee or a meal at the cafe (closed Mon and Tues) and read all about the history of the area, or visit the covered garden. Your friendly hosts are Maree, Barry, Eunice and Charlie. A large motel, backpackers and camping complex, there are twelve powered sites, all beautifully manicured grass stands divided by new plantings. In a well sheltered tent area there is a large, sparkling, modern kitchen/dining that has full stoves, hobs, all appliances, cooking and eating utensils. The ablutions are spotless with large tiled showers including a disability unit. The laundry has automatic machines and internet access is available, keep your belongings safe in the lockable cupboards. Enjoy a game of mini golf or feed the animals, play table tennis or have a spa and sauna, and if you want to eat out there will soon be a caf_ on site. This is a great area for fishing, tramping _ the Hump Ridge Track is well known. Swim in the river or at the beaches close by or maybe take a jet boat ride. With a small pond and large trees set on well-manicured lawns, there is plenty of shelter for the campers. Modern ablutions are all spotless with an excellent disability/family suite. The kitchen/dining area has electric hobs, fridge/freezer and microwaves, and one of the sinks has been lowered to help people in wheelchairs. All utensils are supplied. The laundry has large washing machines and dryers with a charge for their use, and the sociable covered BBQ area is well used by guests. Tent sites at the top of the park are made private with individual hedges between each site. Pets are welcome and wifi is available, your hosts are Mike and Steph. There are 40 power sites and numerous tent sites. Power sites are $35 for two, and tent sites $20 per person.

them, there is good shade as well as privacy from your neighbours.. Well-kept
grounds and there is a small laundry on site, and the lodge kitchen is available
for those in tents at an extra charge. Stop at the fly fishing shop on the main
road, enjoy the cafes, bike trails and the great brown trout fishing at the door.
Powered site $18 for one, $25 for two, and $5 for any extras. Unpowered

The grounds of this spot have been beautifully landscaped and the camp has a panoramic view over the sea. Based in an old hall, the lounge is a huge area that includes a stage, a ping pong table, puzzles, and large comfy sofas pulled up around the huge stone fireplace. There is also a TV and piano, as well as a separate library with many books to borrow. The kitchen has served many people in its lifetime, but is immaculate and quirky with Its old wood walls and retro dining chairs and tables. The toilets and showers are plentiful and recently painted, as is the laundry which has automated washing machines and dryers. The whole place is spotlessly clean and welcoming and is a great stopover on the Te Araroa walking track. Your hosts are Craig and Veronica Wylie, and there are 18 sites available for vans and tents. Prices are $20 for one person and $30 for two, extra adults are $15 and children aged five to12 years are $5, while children under five years are free.
