On the south side of the Rangitata River, this camp is set on flat grounds close to the river mouth and sea. Dedicated fisherman and can stretch stories about the salmon, trout, cod or shark they caught. Pine
hedges supply a wind break to the 35 sites with power and as many again for
tents, many of these are taken by permanents. A small kitchen has a freezer for
your catch, a dining table, and the washing machine is in here too. The ablutions
have toilets and metered hot showers. There is an outside fish cleaning sink provided.
The camp opens early September, coinciding with fishing seasons, and is open through until Easter weekend, catering for fishers and campers.

Situated 10km from Waimate in the South Island, this camp is setup for groups with up to 104 bunk beds, with 6 powered sites and lots of lawn for camping.
There is a large communal kitchen and the hall can easily accommodate 100 people.

The Ashburton District Council provides this service for self-contained freedom campers. Overnight camping is permitted but long term stays are not. There are toilet facilities available.
