This tidy beachside camp reminds us of how things used to be. Sand dunes dominate, with beach walks and the odd friendly sea lion to visit. The kitchen is welcoming, combining cooking equipment and a spot to relax with a book or TV. The office has been recently refurbished, and the camp is under new ownership. There is a basic but clean ablution block and a porch laundry with an automatic washing machine. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. Your hosts are Paula and Lindsay.

An attractive, cobbled park entrance leads to a modern office and spacious,
level grounds enhanced with large trees. With 270 power sites and almost as
many for tents, they are never full. There is a central service building which
includes a kitchen/dining/community room that is well supplied with appliances,
and an outside covered dining option is available. There is a well presented,
modern TV room and lounge with a dining option. A light and airy ablution
block is clean and modern, there are also unisex units and extra toilets around
the grounds. A second facilities block has been added with two family or
disability bathrooms that have under floor heating and a spa. In the laundry
there is a generous supply of automatic equipment and a waiting room with
TV. An outside attraction is a BBQ/dining complex with a sink. Children have
an adventure playground with a jumping pillow, and there is a dump point and
car wash. With a free wifi spot at the gate, and a card phone and an internet
kiosk with free wifi are available, you are all set for your electronic needs.
This is the heart of stone fruit country with a market garden across the road,
and pets are permitted during off peak times by arrangement. Your hosts are
Catherine, Richard and Kay & John. Powered sites are $22 for an adult, and $11
for children, unpowered is $20 per adult and $10 for a child.
Numerous sites scattered in an abundance of old trees, edging the large playing
field. There are 16 power sites at the end of a circular drive, behind the
council swimming pool. Old facilities but adequate for what is needed, the
kitchen/dining includes a fridge and a full stove. The ablutions are in good
order, while the laundry has an automatic washing machine and dryer, both
free of charge. A well-kept camp with a modern children’s playground, or take
a swim in the indoor pool complex that is alongside. A dump point is provided,
but the facilities are kept locked, keys are provided on arrival. This camp is
administered by the Clutha District Council, but there is an onsite caretaker
who won’t be far away. Powered sites are $15 per person, tent sites are $13
per person.
The accent here is on comfort, cleanliness and convenience. 24 power sites
are on level gravel, while tent sites are plentiful on the lawns. The grounds
are well lit at night and the camp includes an attractive and spotless kitchen/
dining/lounge. This well-equipped space has all appliances, cooking and eating
utensils, and you can watch the huge flat screen TV while you cook and eat. Sit
outside and enjoy the sun on the paved dining deck. The clean ablutions are
roomy with excellent appointments, gas hot water showers and a disability
unit. A well-equipped laundry with two washing machines, plus a dump point.
Just a short walk to shops and services of Balclutha, your friendly host is John
McGowan. One person $18, two for $36, add $10 for each extra adult.

Located in a picturesque setting , this camp offers rest and recreation. A treat
for the eyes, there are 57 power sites and unlimited tent sites well-spaced
amongst gracious old trees. A clean kitchen has all amenities including a full
stove. In the small comfy lounge, are selections of board games. The laundry
has auto washing machines. Take the bridge over the creek to a grassed area
for children friendly animals. Hard stands and a dump station are available

Up the hill from the Kaka Point Beach, is this lovely camp ground set amongst a beautiful bush setting. Although the sea is not visible from the camp, it is only a short stroll to the patrolled beach for a swim or surf. Campers may use the tennis courts or enjoy the many bush walks, and a children's playground is just metres from the front gate. There are 25 power sites and plenty of room for tents, tucked into private settings. The grounds are spacious and level, this is a smart little camp with modern amenities, including a large bright kitchen with all appliances and a full stove. An outside BBQ and tables are available, while the laundry has automatic machines. The clean ablutions include disability facilities with lovely hot showers, and there is a dump point here. A small rural campground to the side of the Beaumont Hotel, and next to the river. With about 16 sites on flat land, the camp has recently changed ownership and Is in the process of being upgraded. The small camp kitchen has all amenities and hotplates, ablutions are clean and tidy, and a dump point is provided. This is a good stopover for hunters and fishermen who can relax in the beer garden and tell tall stories, or a good place to rest in after cycling the Clutha Gold Trail which Is metres away. Nestled in the Teviot Valley on the banks of the Clutha River in Central Otago is Millars Flat. A tranquil and spacious spot for campervans, caravans, tents and holiday-makers seeking a peaceful camp site with comfortable tidy accommodation, an ideal location for cyclists to start or end their adventure on the Clutha Gold Trail that passes the park entrance. Approximately a two hour drive to Dunedin, Invercargill, Te Anau, Queenstown and Wanaka, Millers Flat makes an ideal location to base your Central Otago exploration.
This camp is on the shores of the Manuherikia River and landscaped into attractive areas over 37 acres. Trees and flower beds flourish, with willow trees dominant, and a camp store operates in the summer holidays. There is a card phone available and holiday programmes run over the Christmas period. Facilities range from clean, tidy ablution blocks, with a disability bathroom, to a very well equipped laundry. Three kitchens have a full range of appliances and one has _eat-in_ facilities. A camp coolroom is available during summer, with fridges and freezers available at all times. The TV and dining area has an internet kiosk and central heating for the winter.
