DESCRIPTION:
With a small pond and large trees set on well-manicured lawns, there is plenty of shelter for the campers. Modern ablutions are all spotless with an excellent disability/family suite. The kitchen/dining area has electric hobs, fridge/freezer and microwaves, and one of the sinks has been lowered to help people in wheelchairs. All utensils are supplied. The laundry has large washing machines and dryers with a charge for their use, and the sociable covered BBQ area is well used by guests. Tent sites at the top of the park are made private with individual hedges between each site. Pets are welcome and wifi is available.

A busy campground in summer, the sites are all open and well groomed, with
a view of the harbour. There is plenty of tent space, plus 17 power sites (13
have hard stands), divided into two sections by a hedge. The clean and tidy
kitchen/dining has an outside raised deck where you can dine overlooking
the water. The clean modern ablutions have gas hot water and a disability
suite, while the laundry has auto machines and a paved area under a clothes
line. The friendly caretaker is Brent Procter. Non powered sites are $20 per
adult, powered sites are $25 per adult, all children 12 and under just $10. An
honesty box is provided if the Brent is not around.

Right in the heart on Invercargill, this camp surprises you with its large mature trees and well looked after gardens. There are 30 power and tent sites tucked away round the back of this city street. The main amenities block has an excellent large kitchen/dining/lounge with appliances and a huge variety of eating and cooking utensils, and a whiteboard to leave messages for fellow travellers. There is wheel chair access and a separate shower and toilet room and are in pristine condition with eco-friendly lighting, gas hot water, and electronically controlled showers. The laundry has coin operated auto washers and dryers, 200mb of free wifi per adult per night, and a dump station. This camp is close to supermarkets, the famous _Splash Palace_ and a ten minute walk to the centre of town. Powered sites are $22 for one adult, $37 for two, extras $16. Non-powered sites are $18 for one, or $33 for two, extras $16.

Set amongst the hills above Gore, this beautifully landscaped setting looks like
a golf course and is lush with trees. The park is immaculately kept and will
gratify the most ardent environmentalist. Four sites have power and all have
good shelter and shade. Don't expect to find upmarket facilities here as the
clean kitchen and ablutions are in keeping with a bush camping environment.
Washing-up sinks and boiling water are available in the kitchen, the grounds have picnic tables and two electric BBQs, and there is a shower available for
a small charge. This park is great for families and to keep children of all ages
amused, there is a confidence course, flying fox and variety of play equipment.
It is $10 per adult to camp, children under 5 are free, school children are $2
per night. The caretaker comes around often, but you will need to put your
payment in the honesty box.

with graceful birch trees and good shelter. Powered sites, and numerous tent
sites, are hidden in pockets of shrubbery, some van sites have gravel stands and
are close to the main amenities block. The two kitchen/dining facilities have
all amenities, plus full stoves and two clean, tiled ablution blocks and a laundry
with auto equipment. A dump station is here, Eftpos and credit card facilities
are extra services. This area is noted for its brown trout fishing at the nearby
Mataura River. The camp has good housekeeping standard and is handy to

On the edge of a football field, and under the large mature trees, is this tiny
camp. There are about 20 sites, eight with power, all on grass. Facilities are
tired but tidy and include a small kitchen/dining with basic cooking facilities,
clean toilets, and a washing machine and dryer. There is a small playground for
children and a lrage field in front, you will share this spot with a few permanent
residents. This is a council owned camp, visited twice daily by caretakers John
and Sandra who live at 5 Hulme Street if you need them. If they are not
available, speak to the manager at the Otautau Hotel in the Main Street. Tent
sites are $10 for two, extra adults $5, powered sites are $15 for two adults,
plus $5 for extras.
