This older-style camp is lush with trees and has a scenic reserve on one
boundary. Just up from the beach and set back from the main road, it’s a
good spot to launch kayaks and paddle upstream or out to sea. The central,
well-used communal area has alfresco dining under a pergola with wood
and gas BBQs on hand. For the indoor cook, the older kitchen has stoves,
microwave, fridges, and opens to a cosy lounge with TV, internet kiosks, books
and a fireplace. The ablutions have ‘curtained-only’ showers ($2) and the small
laundry with automatic machines. Grant is the owner, and Charmaine will

This resort has a spectacular beachfront location, with island-studded ocean views and the famous pink and white sands of Hahei beach. An easy walk to Cathedral Cove and marine park. The resort_s mature and well-wooded grounds have 300 sites, around half with power. The hill-top, beachfront campervan sites have incomparable views and come with their own picnic tables and clotheslines. In the camper_s kitchen are fridges, microwave and hob cooking. There is a resort store on site and a village shopping centre close by. Three well-cleaned blocks of ablutions have roomy, timed showers, and baths (including a baby_s bath). Just 7 km north of Whitianga, at the northern end on the right hand side is
this lovely beachfront, paddock park-over for motorhomes. The camp spot
is part of a large working farm belonging to the Simpson family. The site has
no power or toilets but a good spring water supply, and can only take fully
self-contained vehicles. It is dog friendly (must be vaccinated and on leash at
all times) for responsible owners. Margaret and Peter Simpson who live next
door (at 1095) are your hosts and here you can pay your $20 per van per
night. Pack in and pack out - please take you rubbish with you.
Just 8 km south of Whitianga, turn off the State Highway and drive 3.5 km of easy gravel road to this rustic country holiday and animal park. Watch for the signs and enter at the caf_ and office. Camp in a peaceful rural setting, with bird calls and bush surrounds. Hook up to one of the 15 powered sites on a large, all-weather hard stand area, bordered by a small stream and beautiful landscaping. Across a little bridge, through the trees, you_ll find three large unisex bathroom suites (toilets and free showers) one with disabled access. Turn west at the Coroglen Tavern, and head 3 km along a narrow unsealed road to this relaxed camp by the picturesque Waiwawa River. A bushland experience awaits you. The camp is open Labour Weekend to the end of April, and the offce/shop at the entrance offers basic supplies and controls the barrier arm card access way. Choose from a mixture of 25 powered and plenty of non-powered sites spread across bush-ringed grounds. There are two ablution blocks with unisex metered shower cubicles and a disabled access suite. The kitchens have all the usual equipment (no oven) and a covered verandah with BBQ for relaxed, outdoor meals. An automatic laundry and dump station are provided and the camp is suited to large vehicles. Enjoy the bushwalks and beachwalks, mountain biking and kayaking on hand. picnic tables on wheels to take to your site. The indoor area has tables and
chairs and some USB ports and internet kiosks. The camp has a wireless hot
spot. There is a fsh cleaning area, car and boat wash and a dump point on site.
The well kept ablutions include a baby’s bath in the Ladies facilities. Showers
are no charge. The kitchen, with stainless steel benches, has fridge freezers,
hotplates, toasters, microwaves and a water flter. There is a central table for
food preparation. The laundry has all new equipment with coin operated
Maytag washing machines and dryers. There is an ironing board and iron set
