Akaroa TOP 10 Holiday Park has self contained studios and units, plus cabins
Situated in the hills above Akaroa village, this park has an enviable location.
Carefully maintained, some of the terraced sites have bay views. Easy access
with trim flowerbeds at each level of the 150 sites. Most have power, storm
water drains and taps. An area is available for boat parking and there are
two dump points in the camp. There is a big in-ground swimming pool on
the upper level and a good children’s playground. Enjoy views over the bay
from the attractive kitchen or use the gas BBQ. TV rooms are provided
and internet access. The amenities include excellent showers and automatic
laundry equipment. It is an easy walk to the township for shopping, but a
climb on the way back. In summer, ice creams and drinks are available at the
office. Your friendly hosts are Kylee and Tracy. All sites are from $40 to $47
for two adults.
On attractive grounds with 27 powered and level sites, this camp has well-kept amenities including a cosy kitchen with full cooking facilities, including herbs for your use. Clean modern ablutions, with a disability toilet and free showers, and an automatic washer and dryer is available in the laundry. The recreation room has a pot belly stove and space to watch TV, have a game of pool for a small charge, or a game of table tennis or table hockey. A BBQ under a covered area is available to all campers, and dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Your hosts are Georgie and Pete.
Sited in the attractive domain gardens, there are many trees for shelter and picnic tables. Sturdy clean toilets and metered showers (two 50c coins for 4 minutes) are available. A basic kitchen, dining and lounge area has a stove, hot water, fridge/freezer and auto washing machine, all recently upgraded due to snow damage. A dump point is available, and an adventure tower and tennis courts are nearby. A great place to relax or enjoy the Mt. Somers walkway, explore the historic coalmines, fish, swim or water ski in the nearby lakes, or have a drink at the pub across the road. The friendly off site caretaker is Wendy Cullen. Prices are for the site, not per person.
This attractive camp is tucked away from the main street behind the lodge complex, and is well sheltered by large, well-trimmed hedges. There are hard and grass stands with a well situated covered BBQ area in the centre, as well as other individual picnic tables. The amenity building has been converted from a small part of a huge historical grain store and is modern and tidy, with sensor lights operating throughout. All amenities are available in the well-presented kitchen, with cutlery and crockery supplied. The excellent unisex ablutions have roomy showers with a disability/family suite available, while the laundry is well equipped. The comfy lounge and dining area is a pleasant area and includes a book exchange, there is also wifi, a spa, sauna, log fire and pool table available. Close to Mt Hutt ski field and right in the heart of the friendly town of Methven, your friendly hosts are Luenne and Alex. Power sites are from $35 for two adults, and tent sites from $30. Winter rates apply.

Camp amongst the kānuka forest just off SH7 between Hanmer Springs and Lewis Pass. Boyle Campsite is on the Te Araroa Trail and at the end of the five-day tramp on the St James Walkway.
