Behind the hotel is a basic campground with room for 10 powered sites,
separated and sheltered by hedges. The ablutions are basic and the laundry is
available on request. There is no kitchen but meals are available at the hotel.

With bike tracks through the forest at your door, this well sheltered camp ground with plenty of room for both tent sites and good flat areas for campervans. The ablution block is well presented with excellent step up showers, and the kitchen/dining includes a full stove and an internet station. Kitchen utensils are handed out when you book in, complete with tea towels and dishwashing liquid. Seating is provided under the trellised verandas, and there are free gas BBQs scattered around the lawns as well as a laundry. The whole complex is sparkling clean, light and airy, and all the blocks are linked by covered walkways. The drinking water is fresh from a spring, fill up your van or empty it at the dump station provided, a recycling station is also here.. This is campground has a lovely atmosphere, from the playground, badminton and volleyball nets provided, to the photos on the wall in the office that shows how the campers have fared over the years. There are bushwalks and mountain bike tracks in the area, or if that is too adventurous you can browse through the swap library, or the hot pools are only a couple of minutes away by car. Lee and Greg are your welcoming hosts. Tent and unpowered sites are $15 per person and 16 powered sites are available at $32 for two.

Off Linwood Ave, is this pretty little camp, 5km from the centre of Christchurch, with a perimeter of tree lined campsites. The centre hosts a clean, pleasant kitchen opening to a courtyard BBQ garden. Excellent ablutions, with piped music, include a disability suite and a good laundry. Of the 40 large power sites, many have hard stands. A special sheltered area close to the amenities has been set aside for tenters, and a swimming pool and children's playground are centrally placed. Internet access is available in the comfortable TV lounge, a 7-day shop is next door to the camp and there is free wifi and a dump station. Your hosts are Ross and Christine. Sites are from $36 for two people.

DESCRIPTION:
This attractive camp is tucked away from the main street behind the lodge complex, and is well sheltered by large, well-trimmed hedges. There are hard and grass stands with a well situated covered BBQ area in the centre, as well as other individual picnic tables. The amenity building has been converted from a small part of a huge historical grain store and is modern and tidy, with sensor lights operating throughout. All amenities are available in the well-presented kitchen, with cutlery and crockery supplied. The excellent unisex ablutions have roomy showers with a disability/family suite available, while the laundry is well equipped. The comfy lounge and dining area is a pleasant area and includes a book exchange, there is also wifi, a spa, sauna, log fire and pool table available. Close to Mt Hutt ski field and right in the heart of the friendly town of Methven, your friendly hosts are Luenne and Alex. Power sites are from $35 for two adults, and tent sites from $30. Winter rates apply.
