Colville Bay Motel and Motor Camp is a half an hour_s drive north of Coromandel, this neat and tidy motel and camp spot overlooks a tranquil tidal bay. Despite the remote location, this is very civilised accommodation with a warm, friendly welcome. Enjoy uncrowded camping on well groomed sites behind the motel. There are sites with power and plenty of room for tents. Sites are neatly defined and have both gravel and grass parking. A modern building provides 4 unisex shower and toilet cubicles, including a disabled access suite. Although there is no kitchen, a porch shelter offers washing-up facilities and fridge/freezer, or you can cook in the appealing BBQ arbor with ample covered dining space. A laundry, dump station and private spa room (additional charge) are provided. Enquire about the fishing or bus trips and clean your catch at the fish cleaning station. A fish smoker is available. Your hosts, Wendy or Mark, will look after you. Tent sites are $10 per person or $12 per person for powered sites.

DESCRIPTION:

A little under half-way between Whitianga and Coromandel, this pleasant park
is now run by the resident shareholders. Casual campers are welcome. A
stunning white sandy beach is across the road, with a camp-side stream and
a handy boat ramp. Check-in at the large, well-stocked shop that is open all
year round, although its hours can vary. Try the fast-food service with onsite
delivery available on Friday and Saturday nights. The camping area is dotted
with shady trees and is nicely groomed. The amenities block is squeaky clean
with roomy, metered showers, and toilets that provide for disabled access. The
laundry is well equipped and there is a bait shed. The kitchen has stainless
steel benches, hobs, microwave cooking and fridge/freezers. It opens to an
attractive gazebo that houses BBQs and offers a shaded dining space. For
boaties, the paved car and boat washing area alongside a fish cleaning bench
will be well used. There is a dump station, internet kiosks, an outdoor shower
enclosure and flourishing gardens. Pets allowed except high season and public

DESCRIPTION:

Otautu Bay Farm Camp is a 30 minute drive north from Coromandel town and 10 minutes north from Colville (on mainly sealed road). Colville has a general store and is the most northern stop for petrol/gas and general supplies. The camp which is bordered by a working farm is spread along most of the bay which provides boat launching, excellent fishing, kayaking and a beautiful safe, sandy swimming beach. It is a great place for walking, relaxing and enjoying spectacular sunsets. It is also an excellent base to further explore the northern end of the Coromandel Peninsula. Facilities include a laundry, metered hot water showers and a range of toilet blocks. There is no kitchen, freezer space accessed by arrangement. Bait, water and ice for sale. Camp sites $14 per adult $6 per child up to14yrs. $6 extra for a powered site per night. Pricing subject to change. Eftpos and credit cards (mastercard and visa) accepted. Bookings are essential during Christmas/January and major public holiday periods. Pets by arrangement with current vaccination certificate. Wendy and John are your hosts.

DESCRIPTION:

This older-style camp is lush with trees and has a scenic reserve on one
boundary. Just up from the beach and set back from the main road, it’s a
good spot to launch kayaks and paddle upstream or out to sea. The central,
well-used communal area has alfresco dining under a pergola with wood
and gas BBQs on hand. For the indoor cook, the older kitchen has stoves,
microwave, fridges, and opens to a cosy lounge with TV, internet kiosks, books
and a fireplace. The ablutions have ‘curtained-only’ showers ($2) and the small
laundry with automatic machines. Grant is the owner, and Charmaine will
book you in. Non-powered sites are from $20 per person, powered sites
from $23. Seasonal rates apply.

Our pet policy allows animals on our premises but not in any of our buildings. We ask that dogs/cats are on leads on our premises and kept under control as we are in the middle of a Council Reserve. We must protect our local native birds and nature.

DESCRIPTION:

The family park is a short walk to the centre of Whitianga. It offers large
level sites some some hedged for privacy and beautiful trees, giving plenty of
shade. There is ample room for cars and boats. Recreational facilities include
an outdoor swimming pool, children's playground, TV room, BBQ’s and some
picnic tables on wheels to take to your site. The indoor area has tables and
chairs and some USB ports and internet kiosks. The camp has a wireless hot
spot. There is a fsh cleaning area, car and boat wash and a dump point on site.
The well kept ablutions include a baby’s bath in the Ladies facilities. Showers
are no charge. The kitchen, with stainless steel benches, has fridge freezers,
hotplates, toasters, microwaves and a water flter. There is a central table for
food preparation. The laundry has all new equipment with coin operated
Maytag washing machines and dryers. There is an ironing board and iron set
up for campers. Sites are from $19.50 per person. Seasonal rates apply

Turn west at the Coroglen Tavern, and head 3 km along a narrow unsealed road to this relaxed camp by the picturesque Waiwawa River. A bushland experience awaits you. DESCRIPTION:

Opoutere Coastal Camping is set alongside the Wharekawa Wildlife Sanctuary and broad sweep of Opoutere surf beach. This coastal hideaway is just 5 km from SHwy 25 and less than two hours drive from Auckland airport. The camp is open Labour Weekend to the end of April, and the offce/shop at the entrance offers basic supplies and controls the barrier arm card access way. Choose from a mixture of 25 powered and plenty of non-powered sites spread across bush-ringed grounds. There are two ablution blocks with unisex metered shower cubicles and a disabled access suite. The kitchens have all the usual equipment (no oven) and a covered verandah with BBQ for relaxed, outdoor meals. An automatic laundry and dump station are provided and the camp is suited to large vehicles. Enjoy the bushwalks and beachwalks, mountain biking and kayaking on hand. For conservation reasons no pets are allowed. Non powered sites are from $15 to $19 per person. Powered sites
are from $15 to $23 per person. Seasonal rates apply.
