DESCRIPTION:

The vista of Matauri Bay spreads below you as you descend along a short
but winding road. The camp is outlined with Norfolk pines running into level
campsites at the northern end of the beach. A barrier arm entry system
operates. The seven days store/office has a liquor license and sells petrol,
diesel and LPG, along with general supplies. Dive bottle fills are also available.
The amenities block has a basic kitchen with plenty of sinks, communal fridge
and a full stove, extra hobs and two microwaves. Two BBQs with outdoor
seating, or visit the fish and chips kiosk in holiday time. There are plenty of
ablutions, curtained showers open to a communal dressing space. Washing
machines and dryers are in separate rooms. Campers have card access to the
amenities. At peak season this is a very busy camp. Your hosts are Maggie
and Brian Grimwood. Peak season prices are $24 per adult (minimum $48
per site) plus $8 for power. Seasonal rates apply.

DESCRIPTION:

Privacy in an unspoiled setting, but you will have to travel about 16km of
rough road to this self-registration campsite. Beside the eastern edge of
the Puketi Forest, it is close to some spectacular Kauri forest. The campsite
(capacity 50 people) is an ideal base from which to explore the forest, with its network of tracks and walks. There are wheelchair-access toilets, cold-water
taps, fireplaces and wood provided at the campsite. No pets please. All sites
are $10 per adult.

DESCRIPTION:

A short drive out of town, take Cobham Road to Inlet Road and turn into
Pa Road. Here you can enjoy the secluded atmosphere of this smaller camp.
There are16 lawn sites with power and shady trees that are very inviting with
direct access, by a bush walk, to town. Sited on the Kerikeri Inlet, there is a jetty
and boat ramp. You can hire kayaks, one of the fully furnished safari tents, or
gypsy caravans with outside baths. The central amenities have a kitchen with
hobs and ovnes. There are unisex showers and an ample supply of toilets.
The laundry has large automatic machines. A good standard of housekeeping
is maintained throughout. The pagoda marquee houses a BBQ. Internet

DESCRIPTION:

Country camping, but only a short walk from the southern end of Kerikeri
township. The terrain is on several levels above the Puketotara River with
the main facilities on the central terrace. This park is very well served by
clean ablutions. There is a steep access to the flat power sites at various
levels. A large area of level open camping along the river is ideal for tenting.
The kitchen is well laid out and has all ‘mod-cons’. The mix-and-mingle BBQ
complex has a roll-back roof and a log-burning fireplace. A separate Internet
and TV lounge has been set aside for both camp Internet and wireless. Your
busy hosts are Louise and Andrew. Non powered sites from $36 for two.

DESCRIPTION:

Drive in off the southern approach road, and take the road signposted to the
Airport, near the junction with S Hwy 10. Hideaway offers plenty of lawn
tent sites and 10 power sites, all with taps and sumps. Communal facilities are plentiful but well-used. There are two lounges and two big homely kitchens complete with all utensils, plus two modern laundries. The ablutions have both separate and unisex showers available. Outdoors there is a free-form swimming pool, with newly renovated deck, new BBQ’s and sink. You can buy provisions at the lodge/store/office. This camp is used mainly as a base for seasonal workers. 24 hour access to the Internet is available.  Seasonal rates apply.

DESCRIPTION:

Follow the signs off the main route north, 8km north of Awanui. The Park
is a five minute walk to 90 Mile Beach. A central building contains all of the
facilities. There is a good kitchen for campers with outside dining and a BBQ.
An excellent TV lounge has extra dining. The ablutions are spotlessly clean,
with disability facilities and generous showers. Level grounds are close to
the beach with sheltering trees at the rear and a swimming pool. There is a
dump point provided. Pets by arrangement. Horse treks and quad bikes are
available and Glen will arrange fishing trips on request. There is a takeaway
shop and restaurant in summer. Your hosts are Glen and Debbie. All camping
is from $17 per adult, $10 per child. Peak rates apply.

At the top end of Kaikohe beside the RSA the Motor Inn has a camping
area to one side. There are 10 power sites and numerous tent sites with
just a toilet, free shower and a small kitchen. A laundry has auto machines.

Campers have access to the swimming pool and enjoy the convenience of
the bar and restaurant next door. Very handy to the Kauri Coast or take a
30 minutes drive to the Bay of Islands. Your friendly hosts are Michelle and
Lindal. All sites $15 per person.

This Holiday Park is permanently closed.

Right next to a Medical Centre on Kerikeri Road 350m from town centre,
entry down the palm lined driveway has been greatly improved to facilitate
easy access to the garden camping on lawns (2 sites have power and taps). The
grounds have a fenced swimming pool with water slide and mature trees. This
is a quiet and family orientated camp. The toilet/shower suites are handy and
all spic and span. An all-purpose room has cooking facilities, TV, fridge/freezer
and laundry equipment. There is a free BBQ or try the local eateries. Your
hosts are Heather and Arthur. All sites are from $40 for two people. Shower
tokens supplied.

DESCRIPTION:

The Tokerau Beach Motor Camp is closed at the moment.

This camp is right on a safe sandy beach that is known for its excellent fishing
and shellfish gathering. To the rear of the camp there is a large building that
houses the amenities. The ablution block is tidy and the kitchen has a fridge/
freezer, microwave and cooktops. A large basic TV lounge has table tennis.
In the auto laundry is a place to sit and read. This is real kiwi camping, close
to the beach with some sheltered sites. There is a dump point here. Plenty
to do: try the kite surfing school, or take a trip to Cape Reinga, Charter
fishing is available locally. Close by are a general store, Internet, fish & chips,
a restaurant and a café. There are around 44 sites with power plus 250
sites for tents.  Seasonal prices apply and dogs are welcome by
arrangement only.
