DESCRIPTION:

Privacy in an unspoiled setting, but you will have to travel about 16km of
rough road to this self-registration campsite. Beside the eastern edge of
the Puketi Forest, it is close to some spectacular Kauri forest. The campsite
(capacity 50 people) is an ideal base from which to explore the forest, with its network of tracks and walks. There are wheelchair-access toilets, cold-water
taps, fireplaces and wood provided at the campsite. No pets please. All sites
are $10 per adult.

DESCRIPTION:

Wagener Holiday Park (Houhora Heads Motor Camp) is within an easy 12km
reach of 90 Mile Beach. Be sure to have a look at New Zealand’s oldest
pioneer mansion: the Subritzky/Wagener Homestead, built in 1859. Enjoy
a walk through the beautiful Wagener Park historic grounds and memorial
gardens. Nature has provided an almost landlocked picturesque harbour here.
The adjacent beach is popular for swimming, surfing, Wagener Holiday Park
(Houhora Heads Motor Camp) is within an easy 12km reach of 90 Mile
Beach. Be sure to have a look at New Zealand’s oldest pioneer mansion:
the Subritzky/Wagener Homestead, built in 1859. Enjoy a walk through the
beautiful Wagener Park historic grounds and memorial gardens. Nature has
provided an almost landlocked picturesque harbour here. The adjacent beach
is popular for swimming, surfing, shellfish gathering, fishing and “all-over”
tanning. The camp has a boat ramp and wash down facilities, and a reputation
for fishing. Land based fishing gear, kayaks and golf clubs are available for
hire. Sites vary from ones with spectacular water views to the secluded and
private. Although there are 120 power sites, a large area of the camp has
been set aside for unstructured non-power camping. There is a children’s
playground and a BBQ area is available. There is a special area for campers
with dogs. The laundry and kitchen facilities are clean and tidy. There are ample, roomy, metered showers and flush toilets. Sewerage and dump point
and a car wash are all available.

Tent sites are from $15 per person or $17 per person with power. Seasonal rates apply.
We have 2, 3 and 4 berth cabins, (2 are en-suite cabins)

DESCRIPTION:

Approx 3.5 kilometers from Russell is this tranquil picturesque camp, set in a sheltered bush covered valley. Some 14 acres, is divided by trees giving a variety of spacious sites some with privacy (around 40 have power). A swimming pool with outdoor seating, and an imaginative children's play area overlook a large raised lawn with al fresco dining. Each of the tables has an umbrella and a BBQ, A choice of two kitchens, one with an adjacent TV lounge, internet access and a log fire. An outdoor area has a wood fired pizza oven and an all weather table tennis table. Two clean ablution blocks provide ample facilities. Both automatic laundry equipment and clotheslines are plentiful. There are a number of outdoor taps in the grounds, a boat wash, fish-cleaning area and a smokehouse. Enjoy the many activities in the area, including hiring bikes, fishing, kayaking and walking and get the 'lowdown' on the history of Russell. This is the closest camp to the Twin Coast Cycle trail, and great camp for those doing the Cape Brett walk. There are boat ramps near by and wonderful bird life. - you have an opportunity to see both wekas (an endangered N Z flightless bird) and Kiwis which can be heard at night. You may even be lucky enough to see one. The BBC filmed the birdlife in this camp in Nov 2014, and will be screening world wide in 2016. Dogs by arrangement. Your friendly hosts are Angela and Don. DESCRIPTION:

An ideal chance to escape to an island for a camping holiday. Indico, Paradise
and Otehei Bays are set aside for day visitors. At Otehei Bay you will find
an open-air restaurant. Campers can stay only at Cable Bay (31 sites) and
Urupukapuka Bay. Camping is on a self-registration basis for Urupukapuka
Bay, with a warden on site over summer for both bays. Drinking water and cold showers are at both sites. Campers need to be completely self-sufficient
and bring a portable toilet screen and a supply of biological (not chemical)
additives. They also need to remove all their rubbish from the island.
No pets or open fires please. Please leave farm gates as you find them.
Campers need to make their own arrangements for transport. Boats leave
for Urupukapuka Island from Paihia and Russell daily. Price per adult is $10.

Just a short hop from the intersection dividing Kaeo from Whangaroa, this
is a quiet, well-groomed pretty little retreat on the upper reaches of the
Whangaroa harbour. The grounds have 40 sites, well-wooded and sheltered,
and surrounded by native bush-clad hills. The amenities are modern with a
well-equipped kitchen and an adjoining glass screened area for casual meals.
This has a TV. There are excellent shower cubicles and automatic equipment
in the laundry. Two small indoor pools (one hot, one cold). This is a favourite
spot for fishing. Try your hand at catching marlin, or hire boats and dive gear. Camp sites are from $20 per person plus an extra $4 for power. Your host

Take a sharp hairpin to your left on to West Coast Road as you leave the
Rawene Ferry, or turn right at the ferry for those travelling from the north.
5km south of Kohukohu and 1. 7km west of the ferry landing, the Tree House
Eco Lodge is along the Motukaraka (West Coast) Road and is well signposted.
A pleasant, shady spot for backpackers and travellers who appreciate a quiet,
uncrowded camping area that is brimming with bird-life. Campers with
cars must leave them in the carpark provided. Small motorhomes can be
accommodated although only one power point is available. The smoke-free
communal area with kitchen is delightful, although it is not suitable for very
young children. Stimulate your appetite with the 20-minute bushwalk. Your
hosts are Phil and Pauline Evans. Camping is $20 per person. $13 without use of kitchen, $20 includes use of the kitchen.

Enjoy the stunning views of Russell township, the Bay, and over to Paihia. This park is located on the hill above the waterfront, with an easy walk
to shops, restaurants, heritage buildings and trails. Sites are level on three
terraces, with the higher sites having great views. All amenities are on
the middle terrace. A disability access bathroom is available on request.
Overlooking the water, is a well appointed kitchen, with adjoining dining,
and TV annexe.. Wif is also available. There are good cobbled driveways
throughout forming a one-way system to a separate exit and a central
play area and equipment for children. Boat engine flush and fsh cleaning
facilities are available. The many activities in this area include fshing, sailing, kayaking, cycling, Bay of Islands cruises, bushwalking, and heritage trails.
