Driftwood Cottage is a safe haven for self-contained Motor Homes, caravans or buses and tents. Take the road from Kenepuru Sound and turn off to Manaroa, Clova Bay, to this little piece of paradise on the water_s edge in the outer Pelorus Sounds. With powered sites, and a traditional BBQ surrounded by cut log, it is a great area for relaxing with your fellow Master Chefs. Good fishing is in the bay and easy boat launching. Swimming, kayaking (kayaks available) or lovely walks will keep you occupied, or just plain chilling out. This is a peaceful quiet spot ideal for families, fishermen and retirees and only two hours drive from Picton or Havelock. Take yourself along and enjoy a magical holiday. Very close to the township of Kaikoura, this small camp tucked in behind the motel complex has pleasant level sites bordered by trees. A small basic but clean kitchen has tables and chairs, and outside is a covered social dining area. The basic, roomy showers are free, there is a dump station and free Wifi. The friendly manager is Ivy.

You can camp near the original cobb homestead built in 1885 close to the Molesworth Farm Park boundary.

A self-registration camp site at the Pukatea Stream. This one suits the nature
lover because as well as walks, the area offers sea fishing, swimming and small
boating. The only facilities here are toilets and cold water, but there is disabled
access. Charges $6.10 per person, $1.50 for children.
This campsite has closed after the 2016 Kiakoura earthquake.
This small camp is just 32kms north of Kaikoura and boasts magnificent views and great walks. Fishing by both sea and river for crayfish and paua, and there are dolphins and seals in the bay just across the road. Find a spot in the shade of the fig tree in this peaceful and well sheltered camp. There are 12 powered sites available, plus tent sites. Facilities include toilets, showers, a coin operated auto washer, outside camp kitchen, and a gas BBQ. You may want to treat yourself to a fresh crayfish, paua pattie or scallop pie from the roadside shop out the front. Dogs are welcome, except during holiday periods and long weekends. Your friendly hosts are Belinda and Maurice. All sites are $15 per adult.
This camp is well presented and designed with care and thought. Camping is
on level ground, divided by limestone drives. The trees and fencing help with
privacy. Picnic tables are scattered around the sites. An excellent, clean all-in one service block with tile floors, a fully equipped kitchen , toilets, shower, and a laundry with auto machines and an internet station. A large covered deck
around two sides has table & chairs and Sky TV. A separate covered area has
a BBQ and adjacent is a landscaped pool and spa area. Your friendly hosts are
Lee and Struan. Tent sites from $40 for two, power sites, from $44 for two.

A well landscaped park on the seaward side of Beach Road. There are 100
roomy grassed sites, 76 of which have power. There is a good playground that
includes a jumping pillow, and the kitchen and dining complex is attractive and
well equipped. Outside there is a pleasant BBQ pavilion for alfresco dining.
The spotless ablutions have a disability/infant suite and the laundry has fully
automatic equipment. You can enjoy either the outdoor, heated swimming
pool or the popular spa pool, and a card phone is provided for your use. Fish
cleaning facilities are available and there is a dump point, as well as internet
access. Your hosts are Lynne and Gerald Nolan. All sites are from $42 to $52
for two people.
There are 17 powered sites for motorhomes, caravans and other power-supported vehicles.
Then there are over 30 unpowered / tent sites with expansive unmarked space in the adjacent paddock can accommodate all types of vehicles buses, caravans, tents of all sizes. There is also remote riverside camping for self-contained vehicles only.
This camp is easily accessible in a level garden setting, and is only 6kms from Havelock. The ablution facilities are first class, with a disability unit, and the kitchen is excellent with a covered outside dining BBQ area. A good laundry and a comfortable TV and games room are provided in the 'Deadwood Saloon'. Trampoline and volleyball are available, the local river is good for trout fishing and many activities can be accessed from Havelock including the mail boat run.
